Paramount has debuted a new motion poster for the fifth instalment in the Scream franchise (simply titled "Scream"), and it spotlights some of the new and familiar faces we'll meet when the movie slices its way into theaters early next year. One thing they all have in common? Potential Ghostface fodder!

There's been a lot of debate about the identity of this latest incarnation of the masked killer, with some speculating that it might even turn out to be one of our central protagonists this time. Could Dewey Riley (David Arquette) or Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) really betray Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) after everything they've been through together? Is it possible Sid herself finally snaps and dons the visage that's plagued her for most of her life?

We'll just have to wait and see, but at the end of the day, "it's always someone you know."

Check out the poster in the player below along with a new promo still, and let us know if you're looking forward to Scream 5 in the comments.

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past. Neve Campbell (“Sidney Prescott”), Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) and David Arquette (“Dewey Riley”) return to their iconic roles in Scream alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.

Paramount Pictures teamed with Spyglass Media to co-produce and distribute Scream, which has Ready or Not duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett on board to direct. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are co-writing the screenplay. Producers for the film are Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein and William Sherak, with Kevin Williamson executive producing.

Scream is set for release next January.

Sidney’s the killer. She’s finally lost her mind and developed a Ghostface split personality.

@WruceBayne - Nah. That would be awful.

@CorndogBurglar - it would be terrible but it’s probably better than whatever motive the actual killer has as to killing a bunch of people that have nothing to do with each other but live in the same town.

@WruceBayne - I mean, you're not wrong. But every Scream movie has had something to do with Sidney's family, mainly her mother. Scream 4 literally just introduced the sister and niece of Sidney's mom, just so they could have another new person that was pissed off at Sidney or her mom.

So it wouldn't surprise me if they did that again. Just introduce someone new that has some reason to be mad about Sidney's mom being a whore and the repercussions if it.

But Sidney being the killer doesn't make sense. Especially with the rest of the series. I would be more inclined to say Dewey is the killer this time. Because all of these killing sprees keep happening BECAUSE Sidney is still alive. If there was no Sidney, there would be no reason for anyone to have killed anyone, including the original movie. Every movie comes back to wanting to hurt Sidney because of the sins of her mother. So maybe Dewey figures that if Sidney dies, no more killing sprees happen?

I'm banking on Dewey being the killer

@bobevanz - Yep. This is what I've been saying since the first trailer.

@bobevanz - what about his limp though? Has he been “Keyser Sozaing” it this whole time? Lol

@WruceBayne - To be fair, his limp has gotten worse as the movies go on. I know that wasn't planned by any means. But it felt like he barely had a limp in the last one.

My predictions is that the killer or atleast one of them is Jack Quaid's character. I think he'll be revealed as the son of Stu and Sherriff Judy and he was probably conceived around the time of the first film. We already know from the last film that judy went to the same highschool at the same time as Stu. I think Judy and Stu had a fling and she found out she was pregnant with a seriel killers son and not wanting the social stigma put him up for adoption. It's a great motivation for revenge and it also makes since why they would return to Stu's house in this one. Also Jack Quaid actually looks like Mathew Lillard.

@CurlyBill - I actually like that idea. She was introduced in the previous film so it gives her enough depth and Stu was always one of my favourite killers so would be a welcome return of sorts.

@CurlyBill - Oh......that's actually a good guess!
