That honestly was such a nice and smart comment without any shade or snyde. Margot is really the one.

@aurorsand146 - They should have told her it is a dream sequence. She does not actually die.
DaHyro
DaHyro - 7/12/2021, 9:29 AM
@KingLeonidas - Is it a dream sequence, though? Barry from that moment/time goes back to warn Bruce about Lois.

Now that I think of it, I don’t think Zack has an answer to this question either lmao

Ha1frican
Ha1frican - 7/12/2021, 12:05 PM
@KingLeonidas - You mean just like the “dream” he had in BvS where Barry very clearly breaks the time barrier and merges the two timelines giving him memories from his future self? The Knightmare being the intended future was not only really obvious but also has been confirmed for years even before Snyder left JL. You even see it when Cyborg is being shown the future when the scout ship brings Superman back to life

@DaHyro - It's a vision of the future/alternate timeline that they're trying to remove from existence. The plotlines for JL2 and 3 are already floating around the interwebs and answers those questions. So yes, he does know what it is.

I mean, it took place in a possible future that WB is probably never gonna acknowledge again.

I think she’s onto something here. If DC continues to just focus on making solo movies with a mindset of giving the directors free reign, then I’m sure us as the audience can disconnect from trying to follow any sort of linear story… exactly like a comic book!
mastakilla39
mastakilla39 - 7/12/2021, 8:17 AM
@Se4M4NSt4ine - I don't know, it just sounds convoluted and confusing to me because that means there is no "definitive" iteration this generation. Its as dumb as having a bunch of different actors and movies for batman, crow, or james bond with no connections or consistent plot.

It can deliver the fun and make money, but the investment into the story and character's future is pointless then.
Cbmfilmjunkie
Cbmfilmjunkie - 7/12/2021, 8:32 AM
@Se4M4NSt4ine - It makes sense to us “nerds” but the general public is confused as hell.

When I talk to non comic fans they have so many questions when it comes to DC.

“Why so many Batmans”
“Is The Suicide Squad a sequel to Suicide Squad”
“Will Joaquin Phoenix fight Robert Pattinson”

It gets mad confusing and hard to explain.

Marvel’s more linear and interconnected way of filmmaking is more general audience friendly.

Se4M4NSt4ine - 7/12/2021, 9:30 AM
@mastakilla39 - yeah maybe you’re right, but I guess that comes down to us trying to micro manage and force movies to make sense side by side, when in honesty only 10!years ago, we weren’t so bothered by the entitlement of having one connective shared universe?
Se4M4NSt4ine
Se4M4NSt4ine - 7/12/2021, 9:32 AM
@Cbmfilmjunkie - i completely get that argument, but man I’ll say people are far too entitled with movie experiences these days, everyone wanting to know how this (or) that works… in the famous words of Tarantino:

“Just watch the [frick]ing movie to find out.” 😎

@Se4M4NSt4ine - "Just like there are in the comics" is the excuse DC keeps using, but both DC and Marvel comics have each had a singular universe with it's own continuity since the 1930s. Yes there are What Ifs and Elsewiorlds, but most comics on the shelves are part of a canon, unless they're tie-ing into a TV show or are specifically an What If.

We don't have multiple DC universes running concurrently week in week out.
HannibalLecter
HannibalLecter - 7/12/2021, 11:26 AM
@Se4M4NSt4ine - I'm pretty sure they tried to make the DCEU one shared universe with a linear story until it failed and that's why we are getting all these soft reboots now.

@Se4M4NSt4ine -
I have been mulling that over and it's not a bad idea. Every creative team on a particular run of comics is telling kind of a unique story. Maintaining such a complex narrative as Marvel is doing isn't necessary for every CBM. Just make a good movie where you give a shit about the characters, there is a coherent story and boom, no need to get all worked up about it.

Look at Deadpool. There were a few X-Men links but they were not necessary in the least.

Look at the Nolan Batman movies, no muss, no fuss, complete story.

I agree it works with the comics that there are multiple stories run next to each other, but I never really thought that worked with movies/tv.

It is a personal preference, but I do like things to be connected. I haven't picked up a lot of Marvel and DC shows because they are not part of a larger universe. It might be the general audience member speaking in me, but I think it has reached a point where I don't know anymore what show and what movie is connected.

I'll admit it doesn't have to be connected to be good, but with such a big market I do have to choose between shows and such because I don't have time to watch it all.

That's how the DCEU is, and not in a good way.
WB can forget about beating the MCU let alone get close to its success. Can't wait for Marvel to destroy them with their Multiverse storyline in the movies.
