DUNE: Jason Momoa Trains For His Big Duncan Idaho Fight Scene In New Featurette - SPOILERS
Dune star Jason Momoa has shared a new "Becoming Duncan Idaho" featurette, which sees him train for the character's big fight sequence. Be warned, the actor actually spoils a major plot point here.
Game of Thrones and Aquaman star Jason Momoa is set to play a very different (and arguably far more formidable) warrior in Denis Villeneuve's upcoming Dune adaptation, and the actor has now shared a new behind-the-scenes featurette which highlights some of the training he put in to fully inhabit the role of Duncan Idaho.
As a sworn protector of House Atreides, Idaho defends Paul (Timothée Chalamet) from an entire battalion of the Baron's Sardaukar soldiers in one key sequence. Here, we see Momoa preparing for the fight scene, and we also get a glimpse of some new footage from the finished product.
Be warned, Momoa actually hints at a pretty major spoiler towards the end of the video when he's on the phone to his kids!
Dune opened in several overseas locations last week, and has been performing very well so far. How much success it'll find when it's released in US theatres and on HBO Max on October 21 remains to be seen, but this is a very encouraging start.
For those unfamiliar with the source material, Dune follows the Atreides family as they relocate to the desolate planet of Arrakis to assume control of the production of the most valuable resource in the galaxy, the Spice Melange. Unfortunately, an act of treachery soon makes an outcast of The Duke Atreides' youngest son Paul, and he must accept his destiny as a powerful prophet of the Arrakis natives known as The Fremen.
