SAS: RED NOTICE Star Andy Serkis Only Had An "Inkling" About Snoke's True Identity In STAR WARS - EXCLUSIVE
Talking to us about his new movie SAS: Red Notice, star Andy Serkis commented briefly on whether he was aware Supreme Leader Snoke was, in fact, Emperor Palpatine. Find out what he had to say right here...
One of the biggest mysteries coming out of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was the true identity of Supreme Leader Snoke. There were plenty of theories online at the time, with the most popular being that he was somehow linked to Emperor Palpatine. The Last Jedi offered no answers, though a throwaway moment in The Rise of Skywalker confirmed Snoke was, in fact, just a cloned puppet.
With that, the mystery was solved, though not everyone loved the outcome. Serkis has previously talked about knowing Snoke's background, and while we had the legendary actor on the phone to discuss his new movie, SAS: Red Notice, we had to ask if he knew the Palpatine reveal was coming.
Supreme Leader Snoke is possibly one of your most talked about roles, and we learned in Episode IX that he was Palpatine all along...is that something you were ever made aware of in those first two movies?
It was very much under wraps. Very much under wraps. I had an inkling, but it was not confirmed.
It's definitely interesting to hear that Serkis suspected there might be plans for Snoke to be revealed as Palpatine, and you have to wonder how much of that "inkling" made it into his performance.
Unfortunately, that was all we had time to ask when it came to Star Wars, but check back here a little later, as we'll have more from Andy on his role in The Batman and directing Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Next week, we'll be sharing our full chat about his standout performance in SAS: Red Notice.
