SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS Concept Art Reveals Closer Look At Overhauled Abomination
New concept art for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has been revealed, with one piece highlighting the hero's final costume and the other offering a better look at the comic accurate Abomination.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is another great Marvel Studios movie, though we'd be lying if we said that Abomination's minor role wasn't a little disappointing. After all, he wasn't really in the movie for much longer than what we'd seen in the trailer, and those scenes didn't exactly set the stage for whatever he'll be getting up to in She-Hulk next year.
Despite that, the redesign couldn't be faulted, and a new piece of concept art from Anthony Francisco offers some insight into the villain's overhauled, comic accurate appearance.
The artist doesn't shed too much light on his approach to Abomination in the Instagram post below, but does say "This green guy who [was[ drawn countless times in my high school days...[because] he always fought Hulk. And I loved drawing Hulk during my science class...actually, I drew during all my classes except for science. I wanted to listen in that class!"
It's pretty awesome that he essentially grew up drawing doodles of this classic comic book bad guy before ending up part of the team that brought Abomination back into the MCU this year.
Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development, Andy Park, has also shared a fresh piece of artwork showcasing his design for the costume Shang-Chi wears during the movie's closing battle. Hopefully, more concept art will find its way online soon, though we're betting most of it is being saved for an "Art of" book.
