HBO Max has become a streaming service where nothing really sticks around for long, and The Suicide Squad was pulled from its lineup last night. As you might expect, this has left many fans of the DC Extended Universe anxious for a Blu-ray release, and writer and director James Gunn has now confirmed that it's coming!
While he didn't have a release date to share, the filmmaker promised that fans can look forward to "lots of cool extras [and] deleted scenes [and] commentary."
That's definitely exciting news, and it should be a blast getting some insight into key scenes in The Suicide Squad from Gunn himself (we're also hoping some of the cast get involved). Warner Bros. will hopefully share some additional details shortly, and we'll make sure to keep you guys updated.
In other The Suicide Squad news, the movie dropped another 56% at the North American box office this weekend, earning a dismal $905,000 for a $54 million total since it was released a month ago. Streaming numbers reportedly weren't as high as expected, so unless Blu-ray sales are through the roof, who knows how much of a future this franchise has beyond next year's Peacemaker TV series.
