THE MANDALORIAN's Clancy Brown Open To Returning To The MCU As THOR: RAGNAROK Villain Surtur
You may not realise this, but The Mandalorian actor Clancy Brown voiced Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok, and he's now said he would be open to reprising the role one day should the opportunity present itself...
Clancy Brown is one of the most prolific voice actors working in Hollywood today, but he's no stranger to live-action roles. That makes him someone who can be relied upon for a vast array of characters, though the fact that he played Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok may very well have passed you by.
The iconic comic book villain played a supporting role in Taika Waititi's 2017 Marvel Studios movie, and in a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Brown addressed a possible return to the MCU.
"That was a voiceover character pretty much," he explains. "So, I mean, I would happily do it again, because it would be a mo-cap, and that would be fun, and a voice, but they didn't sign me up for any multi-picture deal or anything like that. If they call me up, and we can reach a deal, then I'll do it. If they call me up, and they don't want to pay me, then I won't."
"I mean, it's not that big a deal. It's not a real character to me anyway, Surtur," Brown added.
Clearly, Surtur isn't really a role the actor gives much thought to, and given the events of Thor: Ragnarok, it seems unlikely he'll make any sort of return to this shared world down the line anyway.
Would you be on board with seeing more of Brown's Surtur in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
