Michael Bay Says There Are 14 More TRANSFORMERS Films In Development

Transformers: The Last Knight is reportedly director Michael Bay's final entry in the ongoing series but it seems Paramount's giant robot franchise will continue on WELL after his departure.

At a special IMAX preview of Transformers: The Last Knight in the UK, director Michael Bay reportedly told the crowd [via a pre-recorded message] that there are A LOT more Transformers movies coming down the pipeline despite his immanent departure from the director's chair.  It seems the writer's room assembled by Paramount didn't just work on The Last Knight or the upcoming Bumblebee spinoff but mapped out a route for the Transformers franchise to continue for decades to come.

If this is truly Bay's last film then a lot of eyes will be on Kubo and the Two Strings director Travis Knight, who is helming the Bumblebee spinoff.  If that film marks a sizable shift in tone and approach from the formula Bay developed across five films then Paramount should expect to see renewed interest in the franchise from jaded fans.

ABOUT TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT
SYNOPSIS: The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.”
