TRANSFORMERS: Next Live Action Film Gets BEAST ALLIANCE Working Title; Possible Story Details Revealed
The Michael Bay era of Transformers is at an end, but a new live-action film is on the way which just got a working title...and some explosive story details! Find more on what to expect here!
Love or hate the Transformers franchise, it's still one of Hollywood's most lucrative properties. 2018's Bumblebee was meant to serve as a soft reboot for the series, prioritising story over the explosive action in Michael Bay's movies. It took in a respectable $467 million at the box office and was widely praised by critics, but a lot of work needs to be done to return to those $1 billion glory days!
Another live-action movie is currently in the works at Paramount Pictures, with Creed 2 helmer Steven Caple Jr. in the director's chair. Shooting is expected to begin later this year, and The Illuminerdi is now reporting that the project currently has the working title of Transformers: Beast Alliance.
It's said to take place in the same timeline as Bumblebee, with a 1990s setting. It's noted that Beast Alliance will "have the flavor of a heist film that will span from Brooklyn to South America." There's no word on which Autobots and Decepticons will appear, but the site adds that an African America or Latino actor is wanted for the lead, as is a slightly older female lead who can pass for a New Yorker.
If the Beast Alliance title sounds familiar, it's probably because of the animated Beast Wars TV show! If elements from that find their way into this movie, then it promises to be completely nuts.
No release date has been set for this next instalment of the Transformers franchise, but keep checking back here for updates. In the meantime, feel free to weigh in with your thoughts below.
