More BUFFY, ANGEL & FIREFLY Actors/Writers Weigh In On Recent Joss Whedon Accusations

Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel star Charisma Carpenter's recent accusations against Joss Whedon have seemingly opened the floodgates for others to come forward with their own troubling accounts of working with the director.

Sarah Michelle Gellar, Amber Benson, and Michelle Trachtenberg (whose insinuations are particularly distressing) were quick to weigh in, and others have now either backed up their claims or detailed their own experiences with Whedon.

Angel and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actor J. August Richards (Gunn) showed his support for Carpenter on Twitter, while Firefly writer Jose Molina re-Tweeted Benson's statement with a rather sickening story of his own.

While nobody has defended Whedon, Anthony Head (Giles) did say he was surprised by the allegations during an interview with This Morning.

"I've been up most of the night just running through my memories, thinking 'What did I miss?' And this is not a man saying 'I didn't see it so it didn't happen.' "I'm gutted, I am seriously gutted. Because my fondest memory of Buffy is the fact that it was so empowering. Not just in the words and the script, but the family feel of the show. I'm really sad that if people went through these experiences, that they didn't.. I was sort of like a father figure, and I would hope that someone would come to me, saying 'I'm struggling. I just had a horrible conversation.'

"Admittedly, the first post by Charisma was when she was working on Angel, and I was long gone. But there were other posts, subsequently, that are making me think 'How on earth did I not know this was going on?'"

None of the cast or crew who worked with Whedon on Marvel's Avengers movies have really had much to say (positive or negative) about the filmmaker over the years, but it'll be interesting to see if that changes now.

Whedon has not responded, but is expected to at some point.
