The re-adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand is set to premiere on December 17, and CBS All Access has now released a new promo poster.

The key art sees "Mother" Abagail Freemantle (Whoopie Goldberg) and some of the Boulder Free Zoners making their stand against the demonic Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgård), who doesn't appear to view his opponents as much of a threat.

Although Abagail and "The Dark Man" never actually meet in person (in the book, anyway), they confront one another through visions as they attempt to sway the loyalties of the main characters.

King has also taken to Twitter to remind his fans that the premiere draws near.

For those unfamiliar with King's novel, The Stand deals with a global pandemic (yes, it's a scarily prescient tale) known as "Captain Tripps" which wipes out 99% of the world's population. The survivors are immune to the disease, but are ultimately forced to fight each other as some are drawn to a the light (Abagail), and others to darkness (Flagg).

We recently found out that Justice League and Fantastic Beasts actor Ezra Miller will play the deranged Trashcan Man.

New Mutants director Josh Boone, who was the driving force behind all previous attempts to adapt the book, will direct, write, and produce the upcoming miniseries.
