PEACEMAKER Trailer Reveals THE SUICIDE SQUAD Villain's Human Side...And The Show's Premiere Date!
As promised, the first trailer for Peacemaker premiered during DC FanDome, and after his despicable actions in The Suicide Squad, it appears we'll get to see more of Christopher Smith's human side...
HBO Max released the first teaser trailer for James Gunn's Peacemaker during DC FanDome, while it's also been confirmed that the series will hit the streaming service on Thursday, January 13.
While there wasn't much to like about Christopher Smith in The Suicide Squad, it's easy enough to see why Warner Bros. wanted to move forward with a spinoff for the character. It certainly looks like Gunn plans to explore Peacemaker's human side and make him more than just another bad guy.
That's evident from this sneak peek, though we definitely didn't expect to see more of his tighty whities! Elsewhere, we get a proper look at Vigilante and a character who appears to be Judomaster. Honestly, the show looks great, and we're excited to see the marketing campaign pick up from here.
"Peacemaker will explore the origins of the character that John Cena first portrayed in James Gunn's 2021 film, 'The Suicide Squad,'" reads the new synopsis, "a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it."
The series stars John Cena as Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Steve Agee as Economos, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn, and Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith. Gunn wrote all eight episodes and directed five, including the first.
