Former U.S. President Barack Obama is doing the rounds to promote his new book, A Promised Land, and named some of the TV shows and music that helped get him through the writing process.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Obama revealed that he's a fan of comic book TV shows like The Boys and Watchmen. The latter aired on HBO and was spearheaded by Damon Lindelof, serving as a sequel to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' critically acclaimed graphic novel.

The Boys, meanwhile, streams on Amazon Prime and adapts the controversial comic of the same name.

"Better Call Saul, because of its great characters and examination of the dark side of the American dream," Obama started when asked about the shows he put on when he needed a break.

"The Good Place - it’s a wise and sweet combination of goofy comedy and big philosophical questions," he continued. "And Watchmen and The Boys, for how they turn superhero conventions on their heads to lay bare issues of race, capitalism, and the distorting effects of corporate power and mass media. Oh, and the NBA playoffs — because it’s hoops!"

Needless to say, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke was definitely flattered to hear this...
