AGENT CARTER Writer Jose Molina On Where Season 3 Would Have Went And The Possibility Of A Netflix Revival
Despite be cancelled a few years ago, many are still calling for the return of Agent Carter, and now one of the show's writers discusses the story for Season 3 and weighs in on a possible Netflix revival.
But while the possibility of a revival looks less and less likely, one of the shows producers and writers discussed what the story for Season 3 would have looked like.
“If memory serves, the initial thrust was going to come from the investigation into the assassination attempt on Jack Thompson,” Jose Molina told Den of Geek before explaining that the show would have introduced someone close to Peggy. “We were hoping (assuming we could afford it) that the story would then lead us to London, where we would learn that Peggy’s late brother Michael was not only alive and kicking, but involved in some very nefarious, super-villainous shenanigans.”
In all, it sounds in line with past comments from Hayley Atwell, which teased some familial drama. Still, the initial plans for Season 3 weren’t the only topic discussed, as Molina also explained why he thinks Agent Carter’s tone and style wouldn’t be a fit for Netflix.
“It would be lovely to think that Netflix (home to so many awesome Marvel shows) would pick it up, but their shows all share a common universe and timeline that Carter doesn’t share. Creatively, these shows tend to be very dark, and Agent Carter just doesn’t have dark and brooding in its DNA.”
That’s certainly an interesting point, but with Disney focusing on developing their own streaming service, it’s likely a Netflix revival isn't even in the cards.
Either way, what do you folks make of these comments? Would you have liked a third season that explores Peggy’s relationship to her Brother? Make sure to share your thoughts in the comments below.
