Following those set videos from earlier today, some much better quality phots of Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld have found their way online, and they appear to confirm a major plot point.

Earlier today, a video from the set of the Disney+ Hawkeye series finally confirmed that Bumblebee actress Hailee Steinfeld has indeed been cast as Kate Bishop, and some follow-up photos may have revealed something else about the Marvel show.

A batch of much clearer images featuring Steinfeld, Jeremy Renner and Lucky the Pizza Dog running down a flight of stairs have now been shared online, and a zoomed-in look at the Avengers: Endgame actor appears to show that Clint Barton is wearing a hearing aid.

Fans of the character will no doubt be aware that Hawkeye lost the use of his ears in the comic books back the '80s after using a sonic arrowhead to take down Crossfire. His hearing was later restored during the Counter-Earth arc, but he was rendered deaf once again in Matt Fraction's more recent run, and that's now recognized as canon.

This show is clearly taking quite a bit of inspiration from Fraction's series, so there's already been speculation that we might see Barton depicted as deaf.

How it happens remains to be seen, but previous casting calls have hinted that the Tracksuit Mafia (Bro) and Kazimierz Kazimierczak, aka The Clown, are going to be introduced, and the latter is responsible for deafening Clint in the comics by stabbing him through both ears.

Don't strictly want to see the Hawk retire in the MCU, but it would only be matter of time, and the infrequent turns we've gotten have been pretty awesome in my opinion (though there could have been more).

Good to finally know for sure with something clear, although really, has Marvel actually confirmed it themselves, if they havent, what are they waiting for

So much Hawkeye news in one day. I’m hoping we get some teasers for all these shows in February or so. I’m not sure if it was Covid or not but Wanda vision never seemed like it got a whole lot of marketing. I will admit I don’t watch a whole lot of tv

I don't want to see him retire without him donning his suit and riding his sky-cycle

Can't wait!

Keep hearing great things about the Matt Fraction run on Hawkeye. I'm pretty sure they will reprint the omnibus whenever this show comes out.
