LOKI: The God Of Mischief Is Turned Into An Adorable Disney Animated Character For New Promo
It might be a while before we hear anything about a second season, but The God of Mischief as an adorable, Disney-style animated character for a new Loki promotional video featuring Tom Hiddleston himself.
Loki is a pretty versatile character when it comes to style, sporting significantly different looks from film to film. We've seen him wear various types of Asgardian armor, a classic suit, and even a work uniform during his time with the T.V.A. But even taking into account how varied his appearance has been throughout his MCU career, did you ever think we would see him as a Disney-style animated character?
The House of the Mouse has released a great promotional video for Loki, the God of Mischief's eponymous Disney+ TV series, featuring Tom Hiddleston discussing his character.
We've established how out-there it feels to see Loki in Disney's distinctive animation style, but are we the only ones unable to get over how fun it is to see him sporting Mickey Mouse-style gloves?
Thor and Loki's Relationship Through a Comedic Lens
The video was lighthearted, but Hiddleston still delivered some great insight into Thor and Loki's relationship, discussing how complicated, yet beneficial, a relationship between siblings can be:
"If you have siblings, you know you can always kind of tease each other. And I think being siblings is, you survive things together. You get through the good times and the bad. And in my experience, that comes through humor and messing around."
We're not sure that Loki quite literally stabbing Thor in the back God knows how many times qualifies as simply "messing around," but, well, both are gods who've been alive for thousands of years. Who knows what they consider good family time (still... ouch).
The God of Pull-Ups
Hiddleston also told a funny anecdote about his time training alongside Chris Hemsworth. Now, we can imagine how training with a physical specimen like Hemsworth would be challenging, but Hiddleston cleared things up in this video: Yes, it is, indeed, really difficult. As it turns out, Hiddleston tried to match Hemsworth's impressive workout numbers, but he couldn't quite do it:
"[At one point during] training — there was a board [...] 1,000 meters on the rowing machine; 100 pull-ups; 100 push-ups and 100 squats, and doing it for time. And Chris Hemsworth would put his time on the board, and I thought, 'Okay, I'll give that a go.' I didn't get past 15 pull-ups."
Not much is known about where Loki's second season will take its protagonist. However, given how the show opened up the MCU to the multiverse, it's not unreasonable to assume we'll get an idea of where the series could go after Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are released.
In the meantime, you can rewatch all episodes of Loki on Disney+.
