WANDAVISION Releases Cryptic Stark Industries ToastMate 2000 In-Show Commercial
"Forget the past; this is your future!" The first few episodes of WandaVision featured strange, '50s-style in-show commercials, and Disney+ has now officially released the "ToastMate 2000" advert online.
The first two episodes of Marvel's WandaVision are now streaming on Disney+, and ahead of this Friday's third instalment, one of the series' cryptic in-show commercials has been shared online by the official Twitter account.
The "ToastMate 2000" advert was one of several moments which indicated that all was not as it seems in Westview, and featured a nod to the wider MCU. It's hard to miss the mention of Stark Industries, so what, if any, baring will this have on the show moving forward?
Well, we know that Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) blamed Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) for the death of her parents back in Sokovia, so between this and the "Strucker Watch" ad from the next episode, it seems likely that these commercials - along with several other surreal interludes - are supposed to represent Wanda's past trauma, or issues her psyche hasn't fully dealt with yet.
Or, it could just be a weird little moment with no major significance designed to get people talking! Whatever the case may be, the fact that the light on the toaster is no longer flashing red is definitely worth noting.
Welcome to WandaVision. Coming soon to Disney+. Marvel Studios' captivating new series "WandaVision" stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
