LADY KILLER Netflix Adaptation Casts THE SHALLOWS Star Blake Lively In The Lead; Diablo Cody Set To Write
Netflix's Lady Killer, an adaptation of the Dark Horse Comic of the same name, has cast Blake Lively (The Shallows) in the lead role with Academy Award-winner Diablo Cody (Juno) set to pen the script.
Deadline is reporting that Blake Lively (A Simple Favor; The Shallows) has signed on to star and produce Lady Killer, an upcoming film adaptation of the Dark Horse Comic series of the same name, for Netflix.
Kate Vorhoff will also produce along with Lively, under their B for Effort banner, as will Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg for Dark Horse Entertainment
The Eisner Award-nominated comic book series is written by Joëlle Jones and Jamie S. Rich, featuring illustrations from Jones, and coloring from Laura Allred.
This is the third major Dark Horse project Netflix has developed, following the acclaimed superhero drama The Umbrella Academy and Mads Mikkelsen-starrer Polar. They also recently announced an adaptation of the psychic comic Mystery Girl, which has McG set to direct and will star Tiffany Haddish in the title role.

Lively will produce and star as a 1950s housewife with a secret life as a highly trained killer-for-hire in LADY KILLER. Cody will write the script based on the Dark Horse Comic of the same name.
