Netflix must be feeling quite confident about The Witcher season two, because they've gone ahead and issued an early season three renewal for the epic fantasy drama that stars Henry Cavill (Mission: Impossible - FalloutMan of Steel) in the lead role as Geralt of Rivia.

In addition to that big news, the streamer also released the first two official clips from the upcoming season during today's TUDUM event, both of which should add much to the intrigue of what to expect this season. The first sees Geralt reconnect with Nivellen (Kristofer Hivju), while the second sees him warn Ciri (Freya Allen) about impending danger.

We also have a new trailer of sorts, and while it's relatively light on fresh footage, it does remind fans that Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) will be back in a big way this season.

The Witcher returns for its second season on December 17.

We also have a first look at upcoming prequel miniseries The Witcher: Blood Origin, which is set approximately 1200 years before the events of the television series and will chronicle the creation of the first Witcher known to man, as well as the events that lead into the Conjunction of the Spheres.

Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.
