Disney+ and Lucasfilm have officially announced this morning that The Book of Boba Fett will premiere, exclusively on the streaming service, just in time for the new year on Wednesday, December 29.

For now, the only known cast members are Temuera Morrison (Aquaman; The Mandalorian) as the titular bounty hunter and Ming-Na Wen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; Mulan), who will reprise her fan-favorite role as Fennec Shand.

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Robert Rodriguez all directed episodes for this season, with Rodriguez reportedly helming multiple installments. Outside of that, not much else is known, but production wrapped in June of this year, so it's likely very deep into post-production and a trailer release could be imminent.

The official synopsis reads, "The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate."

Additionally, the show's official Twitter account has gone live, so be sure to follow @BobaFett to get all the latest updates about the long-awaited spinoff series.

The Book of Boba Fett is one of many upcoming Star Wars Disney+ live-action series, as the studio has already announced AndorObi-Wan KenobiThe AcolyteAhsoka, and Lando. The first two shows have already wrapped filming and should be with us relatively early next year, while The Mandalorian season three is expected to debut sometime in the fall.
