DEADPOOL Creator Rob Liefeld Empathises With Fans Disappointed By The First VENOM Trailer
The reaction to the Venom teaser trailer hasn't been good and you have to believe Sony is regretting its decision to debut the sneak peek so early! Hit the jump to find out why Rob Liefeld wasn't a fan...
That's probably because they wanted it to play with Black Panther and there's now even more negativity surrounding Venom than before the footage debuted online (which really isn't a good start).
Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld took to Twitter yesterday to tear into the teaser and he wasn't alone! Below, you'll find a sampling of Tweets from Liefeld, journalists, fans, and more and they make for pretty amusing reading ("maybe there’s a big audience for Tom Hardy in a CT scanner," muses one person). So, click either one of the buttons below to check the list out and stay tuned for updates.
Sony, stop calling bloggers and expressing your dissatisfaction that they are reflecting the truth. You ran that teaser that wasn’t ready for prime time! Look in the mirror.— robertliefeld (@robertliefeld) February 8, 2018
Completely missing the idea and definition of a teaser you are...— robertliefeld (@robertliefeld) February 8, 2018
BS. Sucked.— robertliefeld (@robertliefeld) February 8, 2018
Oh that totally makes up for it.— robertliefeld (@robertliefeld) February 9, 2018
No, don’t make excuses. Pathetic. Spectacular the entire day previous telling everyone there was a trailer. Complete and total face plant. Don’t show it. Don’t announce it. WAIT.— robertliefeld (@robertliefeld) February 8, 2018
Man, I wasn't sure about that Venom trailer until it included that shot of Eddie Brock just kind of walking around, following by that shot of Eddie Brock walking into a convenience store. Got me HYPE.— Hannah Shaw-Williams (@HSW3K) February 8, 2018
I mean, if *I* were doing a Venom trailer I’d probably tease the actual symbiote, since it’s what makes the character fun and unique and lots of people don’t know about it? But maybe there’s a big audience for Tom Hardy in a CT scanner ¯\_(ツ)_/¯— Robbie Collin (@robbiereviews) February 8, 2018
Let's all do an experiment. Go back and watch the #Venom trailer again. Now pretend like you have never heard of Venom, you have no idea what that is, and now tell me... what is that a trailer for?— Professor Thorgi (@ProfessorThorgi) February 8, 2018
"Sir, should we put Venom in this Venom trailer?"— Greg Wyshynski (@wyshynski) February 8, 2018
"DID THEY PUT DINOSAURS IN THE FIRST JURASSIC PARK TRAILER?"
"Yeah, like, all of them."
"OK ... WELL.... THE CGI ISN'T READY BUT BLACK PANTHER IS NEXT WEEK AND TOM HARDY'S BACK AND NECK ARE ITS OWN SPECIAL EFFECT." https://t.co/zdhmUzYqrE
