Sony Dates A Pair Of Mystery Marvel Movies For 2023 - VENOM 3 Confirmed?

Sony Pictures has announced 2023 release dates for a pair of mystery Marvel movies. The first will open on June 23, 2023; while the latter is set for October 6, 2023.

There's not much else to go on, but it's probably safe to assume that the October date has been reserved for Venom 3, as both of the previous two installments opened in the same window to massive success. The film hasn't been formally announced just yet, but based on Let There Be Carnage's epic post-credits sequence, it's only a matter of time before Sony gives the film the official go-ahead.

As for the other release, that one's a little harder to figure out, but if we were to wager an educated guess, then Olivia Wilde's Spider-Woman movie seems like it has the best odds - although a fourth Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland could also be in the cards.

Sony/Marvel already has one other Marvel film on the docket for 2023, previously dating Kraven the Hunter for January 13, 2023. Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Tenet; Avengers: Age of Ultron) is set to star with J.C. Chandor (Triple FrontierA Most Violent Year) directing and Matt Holloway (Iron Man; Uncharted) penning the script.

Looking ahead at the summer of 2023, June is already shaping up to be a busy month with the releases of Warner Bros.' Shazam! Fury of the Gods (June 2), Paramount's Star Trek 4 (June 9), and Disney/Lucasfilm's Indiana Jones 5 (June 30). Then, Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible 8 really kicks the summer movie season into high gear with its July 8 release.

October's pretty open right now, but an Untitled Marvel Studios film is slated to open on November 3, which is basically the exact same release pattern we had this year with Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Eternals
