Back in August, 2K and Firaxis Games revealed their next big project, Marvel's Midnight Suns, a tactics role-playing game inspired by the early '90s comic event and rather dark storyline. Although the game was announced with a launch date of March 22, 2022, it seems the developer needs a bit more time.

In a post on Twitter, Creative Director Jake Solomon and Senior Franchise Producer Garth DeAngelis, announced that the launch window for Marvel's Midnight Suns has been delayed to the second half of 2022. The decision to push back the game's release clearly wasn't an easy one, but the developers believe its in the best interest of the game. In their message to fans, they said the extra time will allow them to "add more story, cinematics and overall polish and will be essential in helping us make our vision a reality."

We got our first look at gameplay from Marvel's Midnight Suns back in September. The game features tactical, turn-based combat with an intriguing card-based mechanic.

As for the story, you'll be playing as The Hunter, a fully customizable character, who is summoned to help defeat Lilith, Mother of Demons. To prevent Lilith from spreading her armies across the world, you'll fight alongside iconic Marvel heroes such as Captain America, Iron Man and Captain Marvel, and more.

Marvel's Midnight Suns no longer has a specific release date, but the game will still be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
