WONDER GIRL TV Series Focusing On Brazilian WONDER WOMAN Yara Flor In The Works At The CW
DC recently announced that Brazilian immigrant Yara Flor would be taking up the mantle of Wonder Woman in the comics, and the character is also set to be the focus of a new Wonder Girl CW series...
There's a new Wonder Girl series in works at The CW, and the show will focus on a character who will be introduced as the new Wonder Woman in DC's Future State event this January, Yara Flor.
The show hails from Greg Berlanti and Queen of the South executive producer/co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez, and will center on "Yara Flor, a Latina Dreamer who was born of an Amazonian Warrior and a Brazilian River God, learns that she is Wonder Girl, and with her newfound power must fight the evil forces that would seek to destroy the world."
Wonder Girl will mark the first time a Latina superhero has headlined a DC TV series.
The show is expected to explore the origin story of Flor, who was recently revealed as a new take on Wonder Woman - even though she hasn't actually been introduced in the comics yet. January's Future State event will feature an adult version of the character, but DC is also set to publish a new Wonder Girl comic series from Joëlle Jones.
