Wonder Woman was originally expected to open in North America with an only okay $65 million or so, a figure which was high back when Captain America: The First Avenger was released, but now pales in comparison to most modern superhero movies. However, as this past weekend went on, it quickly became apparent that the Amazon warrior's first solo outing would exceed expectations and it did!

While $90+ million started looking possible on Friday, pretty much no one expected Wonder Woman to crack $100 million but that it did with an impressive haul of $103,251,471 in North American
theaters.

Throw in an addition $122.5 million from overseas and Wonder Woman's worldwide debut adds up to a mighty $233 million. That makes it the #1 movie in the world and director Patty Jenkins took to social media last night to thank fans for making the female-led superhero release a hit. It remains to be seen how much higher it will go, but analysts currently expect it to crush The Mummy this coming weekend.
