Wonder Woman 1984 has not had an easy journey to the big screen. Shooting on the movie wrapped in 2018, but multiple delays have seen it slip further and further down the calendar to Christmas Day.

However, when it became clear to Warner Bros. that it would be impossible for the DC Comics adaptation to benefit from a proper theatrical run over the holidays, the decision was made to have the sequel debut on the big and small screen at the same time (courtesy of the struggling HBO Max).

Whatever happens next, Wonder Woman 1984 will almost certainly make a loss, but the studio was understandably concerned about Patty Jenkins' movie growing stale the longer it sat around and are using this opportunity to try and bring more eyes to the streaming service. It will, of course, be released in theaters overseas (including China) so there's a chance some of those costs will be recouped.

Now, the marketing campaign is once again beginning to pick up steam, and Warner Bros. is pushing that December 25th debut hard. That's understandable when HBO Max so far behind Netflix and Disney+, and with a lack of 4K, 1080p will be the only option for DC Fans this Christmas.

That's a shame, as the visuals in the sequel look amazing, which is evident in this TV spot:

Can someone explain to me this whole swinging from lightning thing?

@CapstheMFingMan - I guess they needed a way to get her from one place to another quicker than her running. Kind of like Spider-Man using his webs to swing from one place to another.

As far as how she is able to do that, I've got nothing, and it doesn't matter to me, because I don't question fiction like this (sci-fi, comic book movies, etc.).

@CapstheMFingMan - P.S. It makes about as much sense as the TV version spinning around in circles and ending up with her super hero outfit on. But you know how many of these heroes abilities are in the films and shows; some of them are made up as they go.

@Thing94 - I say just share streaming services with friends. I let a buddy of.mine use my Netflix and he kets me use his HBO Max.....though the one time I tried using it there was terrible buffering issues.

@MrCamw1

It’s prolly my favorite streaming service behind Netflix. Might have the biggest library out of them all.

I’ve heard users having buffering issues on Reddit but it’s never been bad on my XBOX.

@regularmovieguy - I use it through my test app features so that could be the issue, but none of the other services have this problem.
