Gal Gadot is once again facing backlash for taking a controversial stance on the resurgence of violence between Israel and Palestine.

The Zack Snyder's Justice League star, who served a mandatory two years as a soldier in the Israeli Defense Forces and has come under fire for her pro-Israel comments in the past, sent out a Tweet which has been deemed "tone deaf" (at best), with some accusing the actress or blatantly showing support for a state that is perpetrating military occupation, land theft and ethnic cleansing against the people of Palestine.

“My heart breaks. My country is at war,” said Gadot in her statement. “I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people. This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation. Our neighbors deserve the same. I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace. I pray for better days.”

Tensions between Israel and Palestine escalated recently after the eviction of Palestinians from East Jerusalem.

Gadot's comments have understandably caused quite a stir on social media, with many calling for her to be removed from her role as Wonder Woman in the DCEU. Of course, there are also those who have praised the actress for having the courage to speak out and stand by her people.

Representatives for Gadot and Warner Bros. have yet to issue a response.

@Havenless - No kidding. Considering how much hate she’s been getting today, I assumed she’d written something like “Death to Palestine”. She basically wrote “Can’t we all just get along?” and people are calling for her head. I don’t get humanity.

@Havenless - It seems perfectly suitable, and not all that controversial.

@Havenless - This is a perfect example of why the “live in peace” narrative is 90% of the time dangerous and/or disingenuous BS. When ppl say “we must find peace” it so often means “the side I agree with needs to apply more force and authority and the opposing side must accept.”

@Havenless - she bleeding served in the Israeli military. The idea she's going to come out against Israel is stupid and people should take their heads out of their butts.
