AXE COP, A Comic Created By A 5-Year-Old, Being Developed As A Fox Animated Series

It's try, try again for Fox as they make another attempt at dethroning NBC's Saturday Night Live. This time they are hoping to conquer Saturday nights with a brand new animated line-up.

Axe Cop has been given the green-light by Fox and will be slated for their new late-night Saturday lineup.
Fox has ordered six fifteen-minute episodes of the show and plans to debut it early next year as part of its previously announced late-night Saturday animation block. The network expects to air about an hour of first-run animation programming, including a number of recurring series and a slew of animated shorts. - Vulture

In the past Fox created their own sketch comedy show MadTV, and when that show headed south they followed up with ill advised, The Wanda Sykes Show, but they are now pinning their late-night hopes to a comic book created by a five-year-old. Yes, you heard that right. Axe Cop is a joint creation of two brothers with age gap of two decades. One is a professional artist, 30-year-old Ethan Nicolle, and the other is the writer, little brother Malachai, who is now a 7-year-old.

The AXE COP saga began on a Christmas visit to see my family. My Father, a man with very healthy loins, has managed to produce a variety of children, ranging from me, a 29 year old comic book artist, to my 5 year old brother Malachai, a 5 year old boy genius, with four other siblings in between. During the visit Malchai was running around with his toy fireman axe and he said he was playing "Axe Cop." He asked me to play with him, and I asked what my weapon was... so he brought me a toy flute (actually a recorder). I told him I would rather be Axe Cop then Flute Cop, and he seemed just fine with being Flute Cop. The story that followed became more and more brilliant, until I couldn't contain myself and I had to draw the whole thing into a one page comic. From there the saga continued, and over the course of my week-long visit we cranked out the first four episodes of AXE COP.

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but in about five years I'm gonna predict a lot more boobs in Axe Cop.
