SPACE JAM Video Interview: Billy West On The Movie's Legacy, Voicing Bugs Bunny And Elmer Fudd, And More

The legendary Billy West voiced Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in Space Jam, and talks to us about that, the unexpected legacy of the movie, and the scenes he's most looking forward to reliving in 4K this week.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Space Jam, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release the beloved classic on Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack and Digital on July 6th.

As we're sure you'll remember, six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan and Looney Tunes linchpin Bugs Bunny star in the family comedy classic that introduced a whole new dimension of entertainment. The film also features Wayne Knight, Theresa Randle, and the voice of Danny DeVito, while Bill Murray, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, and Patrick Ewing all appeared as themselves.

The voice cast has frequently been overlooked over the years, but it was the legendary Billy West - in one of his earliest roles at the time - who played Bugs Bunny. In our exclusive video interview with the prolific voice actor, he looks back at what it meant to bring that iconic Looney Tunes character to life on screen...as well as pulling double duty to play Elmer Fudd.

Billy also shares his thoughts on the voice cast not being invited to Space Jam's main premiere in Hollywood, the creative freedom he had in the recording booth, the moments he's most excited to relive in 4K, and whether he would consider returning to some of his other famous roles, including in Doug and Ren & Stimpy (you can find his thoughts on Futurama here).

Needless to say, we want to extend a huge thank you to Billy, and remember, you can find him on Twitter @TheBillyWest, while we'd highly recommend tracking the actor down on Cameo too!
