The fourth and final season of Attack on Titan has finally arrived, and to hype up its release this week, we chatted with the voice of Connie Springer, Clifford Chapin! Check out what he had to say below!

Fans of manga and anime will have tuned in to the premiere of the fourth and final season of one of the most popular series, Attack on Titan. With the final arc having arrived, viewers will finally see what happens to their favorite characters.

In anticipation of the new season, we worked with Funimation to gather the voice actors behind five of the show's main characters. We have been sharing exclusive interviews with the people who portray Eren, Armin, Mikasa, Hange, and now we're thrilled to share our chat with Connie Springer voice actor Clifford Chapin.

We had previously spoken with Clif about his role as Bakugo in My Hero Academia, so we were happy to catch up and turn the conversation toward Attack on Titan. Asking about how he gets into character, he told us that his initial nervousness about potentially losing the role actually played into the character's fear.

"It had evolved over the years of us doing it now because when we first started working on Attack on Titan, that was back in 2013. And I was very new to Funimation. I had only been working with Funimation for about 11 months, around the time the casting auditions had occurred for the show. And so I pretty much was just terrified all the time. I was so nervous about doing a bad job and just generally worried that I was gonna get recast or not be able to stay on the job because I knew that it was such a popular show, even back then that I was like, well, I'm so new. I'm a nobody; I have so little experience. I'm gonna lose this job. And I think that nervousness played into bettering the product maybe a little bit because everybody in that first season just felt like they were going to die.

You know, anybody in the show felt like it was their last day in the fight and everything. And it mirrored my own feelings of going in and voicing Connie at the time because I was so convinced I was gonna screw it up. And fortunately, Mike was very patient with me back then, not to say he's not still patient today, but he was patient with me back then. We worked through it and, and I've gotten to keep ahold of it and all these years later. It's seven years later; we're finally in the final season. With that length of time, Connie has become a more consistent character for me; it's a character that I can step back into more easily. That said, I'm very excited about this new season because I know the time has progressed a little bit. They're a little bit older now than they were at the end of the previous season. And so I'm really excited to see what that has in store for everybody and see where Connie has grown to in the time away and where he's going to grow from here on out."
