PACIFIC RIM: First Look At THE BLACK Anime Series Coming To Netflix In 2021 Revealed

Another anime series is coming to Netflix, and an exciting first look at Pacific Rim: The Black has been revealed today showcasing the ongoing battle between the Kaiju and the Jaegers. Check it out...

Directed by Guillermo del Toro, 2013's Pacific Rim may have only grossed $400 million on a reported $200 million production budget, but it still birthed a franchise with a passionate fanbase.

A sequel would follow, Pacific Rim Uprising, but that too underperformed at the box office despite having a new director in the form of Steven S. DeKnight and John Boyega in the lead role. Nearly two years ago, Netflix announced plans for an anime series expanding this world, and we now know that it will be titled Pacific Rim: The Black

The streaming service appears to be going all in on anime spinoffs, as the Godzilla franchise is getting a spinoff, as is Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead

As for The Black, a brief synopsis reveals that, "Long ago, humanity defeated the Kaiju. Now, they’re evacuating Australia. Join a pair of siblings and their battered, long-abandoned Jaegar as they battle across a continent of danger." It looks pretty good if the images below are any indication.

It's also been confirmed that Pacific Rim: The Black is going to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2021, so we'll hopefully have more on this one for you soon.
