There's no sign of the smallest Avenger in Phase 4, but Michelle Pfeiffer hopes to return as Janet Van Dyne. The actress also suggests that her Maleficent co-star could play Catwoman in The Batman...

Last night was the world premiere of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and, as you might expect, star Michelle Pfeiffer was asked about the possibility of returning as Janet Van Dyne in a future Ant-Man movie.

The actress first played the character in 2018's Ant-Man and The Wasp, but aside from a brief cameo in Avengers: Endgame, we've seen very little of her since then. "It's possible, if there is one," she said regarding her return in a potential  third movie. "Oh yeah!" So, she's clearly keen, but it ultimately hinges on what Marvel Studios has planned for the franchise.

During the same interview, the Batman Returns star was asked if she would ever play Catwoman again, and after noting that "I would be surprised," she agreed that Elle Fanning - Princess Aurora in the Maleficent movies - would be a great choice. "She would be awesome," Pfeiffer said.

What are your thoughts on these comments from the actress?

Ant-Man and The Wasp cameos you almost certainly missed!

Hayley Lovitt

In Ant-Man, we never got to see The Wasp's face or hear her voice. That's because Marvel was obviously waiting to cast the hero for the sequel and they made a stellar choice with Michelle Pfeiffer.

Back in 2015, it was little-known actress Hayley Lovitt who played Janet and while Pfeiffer gets top billing, she actually reprises the role for flashbacks featuring a younger Janet saying goodbye to Hope.

It's nice to see that Marvel chose to bring her back here and she's doing pretty well for herself as she most recently appeared as the living mutant computer Sage in Fox's X-Men TV series The Gifted

Tom Scharpling And Jim Wurster

This cameo actually ended up on the cutting room floor so we may have to pick up the Blu-ray to check this one out. Basically, Peyton Reed's friends - comedians om Scharpling and Jim Wurster - shot some brief scenes as Sonny Burch's getaway drivers but that was cut presumably due to time constraints.

These two are best known for their work on The Best Show (an internet radio show) and Scharpling's run of bad luck in the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues because he shot a cameo for Ant-Man but that was cut too. Who knows, perhaps the third time will be the charm if Reed helms Ant-Man 3.

Langston Fishburne

In both Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp, Michael Douglas was digitally de-aged to appear as a much younger version of himself. Dax Griffin plays the character in those and Douglas' face is then placed over that but in order to create a young Bill Foster, Marvel looked a little closer to home.

Langston Fishburne - who is Laurence's son - takes on his father's role in those flashbacks but despite the family resemblance between the two, Laurence's de-aged face was still placed over his son's. While we never actually see his face here, this is probably still Langston's most high-profile role to date.

Stan Lee

Stan Lee's cameos are always a lot of fun but his appearance in Ant-Man and The Wasp may be among the best. During a thrilling chase sequence, The Wasp shrinks down a motorbike and sends one of Sonny Burch's goons flying but she misses the mark on at least one occasion and shrinks the comic book creator's car! Needless to say, he's left reeling by what's happened and makes a pretty hilarious remark about paying for the 60s (no doubt a nod to the psychedelic tales he used to tell back then).

Egghead

In one of Ant-Man and The Wasp's coolest moments, we learn that Ghost was once an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (not by choice, mind you) and that her parents died when her father, Elihas Starr, attempted to access the Quantum Realm. That gave Ava her powers and what you may not realise is that the character is better known as Egghead in the source material and has frequently clashed with Hank.

Played by Michael Cerveris, he has the same bald head as his comic book counterpart and many fans are already convinced that we'll see him return in the next movie as Burch's mysterious employer.

Tim Heidecker

This cameo was so easy to miss that Peyton Reed actually had to point it out during a recent interview. In Ant-Man and The Wasp, comedian Tim Heidecker plays "Whale Boat Captain Daniel Gooobler" and he can be seen freaking out what Scott Lang transforms into the largest iteration of Giant-Man yet.

He also showed up in 2015's critically panned Fantastic Four reboot as Reed Richards' adoptive father and his comedy partner Gregg Turkington had a cameo in Ant-Man as the Baskins Robbins manager who fires Scott. The actor has since been having fun on social media about playing the boat captain.

A huge no for Elle Fanning for catwoman im afraid. Not that shes not attractive or super talented - but she's just really pale and being honest - not refelctive of the catwomen we've seen previously. You need to be able to see the character in someone - if only vaguely. There are plenty of other more appropriate choices!

@OptimusGrime - But isn't it her job to portray characters that are not like herself? Nobody knows for sure what she can do with the role. I mean, she wouldn't be my first choice either, but I think she definitely has the skills to pull it off.

Although they aren't the highlights of the MCU, I really enjoyed the Ant-Man movies and do wanna see more of it. Too bad we have to wait atleast until 2022 for another one (although I see Blade, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Captain Marvel 2 happen sooner than another Ant-Man sequel)

I don't see it, I don't wanna be a naysayer and doubt the young lady..she's obviously got talent and beauty..but I just think there are better fits. I dig Kirby, idk why but she strikes me as a absolute natural for that role. I'm a towel.

Elle Fanning Catwoman would be jail bait for Pattinson lmao. That journalist only brought that name up because she was on the carpet too.
I saw Scarface recently, and Pfeiffer's pretty good there

We are already getting so many movies, shows and sequels that weren't even supposed to have sequels. What would you rather have, an Ant Man sequel or a Spider-man sequel? I'm going for Spider-man. The budget and the fan base for Ant Man is not there, but Spidey is.
