ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: All The Biggest Reveals And Easter Eggs From The First Full-Length Trailer

Marvel Studios has finally unleashed the new trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp and it's crammed full of big reveals and exciting details about what's to come in the sequel. Here's our in-depth breakdown...

Earlier today, Marvel Studios released the first full-length trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp and it definitely delivered on expectations. That's no easy feat following the release of a movie as big as Avengers: Infinity War but it appears as if this quirky sequel will be just the pallet cleanser we need after that epic adventure pitting Earth's Mightiest Heroes against the Mad Titan.

It's clear after seeing the trailer that there's going to be a lot more to this movie than meets the eye and we're now taking an in-depth look at all the biggest reveals and Easter Eggs in the action-packed sneak peek. From newly revealed plot points to moments you probably missed, we have you covered here and may even have some ideas about how Ant-Man and The Wasp sets up Avengers 4.

So, to check out this list in full, all you guys need to do is click either one of the buttons below.

When Does Ant-Man And The Wasp Take Place?

The trailer kicks off with Cassie Lang asking her father how long he's been Ant-Man again but there's no sign of the youngster's mother or stepfather (and we've heard nothing official about the return of either Judy Greer or Bobby Cannavale). Is this a sign that [SPOILER ALERT] they also turned into dust when Thanos clicked his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War and wiped out trillions of lives?

It's definitely possible but with no solid confirmation here, Ant-Man and The Wasp could very easily take place before, during, and after the epic ensemble. It seems we'll have to wait and see for now.

Scott Lang May Have Signed The Sokovia Accords

Those shots of Giant-Man in action either confirm that Scott Lang is up to no good or he's now doing his shrinking thing at the behest of the government. After all, Avengers: Infinity War made it clear that being on the run proved to be too much of a strain on Scott's family so he made a deal with the government and was put on house arrest, presumably signing the Sokovia Accords and registering his shrinking abilities with the government in the process. I'm not sure that's the case, though.

It seems far more likely that he's shrunken his way out of that ankle tag and is doing what he feels he had to when a new threat emerges which poses a risk to the work being done by Hank Pym.

Cassie Lang Wants To Be A Superhero

In what's definitely a fun little Easter Egg for fans, Cassie shares her superhero aspirations. In the comic books, a teenage version of the character ultimately suits up as Stature, a member of the Young Avengers. Now, with an Avengers 4 casting rumour doing the rounds that an older Cassie is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, chances are she'll get her wish sooner than expected.

Sonny Burch

We first met Sonny Burch in the teaser trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp but this one fails to shed any further light on what he's up to in the sequel. I think it's safe to assume he's not on the side of the angels, though, so here's hoping Marvel Studios don't waste Walton Goggins the way Tomb Raider did.

A D-List Iron Man villain in the comic books, Burch is the new head of Cross Industries and like Yellowjacket before him, it definitely appears as if he has his sights set on Hank Pym's technology.

It's worth noting that the building we know he attempts to steal pops up a couple of times, both during that opening sequence where it can be seen on his lap and when it later rapidly increases in size.

The Wasp Is Nobody's Sidekick

Much to the delight of fans everywhere, this trailer makes it abundantly clear that The Wasp is Ant-Man's partner and not his sidekick. That is, of course, the way it should be and all the signs are pointing to Hope Van Dyne kicking ass now she's suited up and utilising the same powers as her mother.

In fact, I wouldn't be remotely surprised if this movie results in her taking a much larger (and well-deserved) role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe because she looks downright awesome in action.

Journey Into The Quantum Realm

It appears as if Hank Pym has finally found a way to travel into the Quantum Realm and while this trailer doesn't reveal whether or not Janet came back with him, it appears as if disaster struck while he was trying to find his wife because a new threat has emerged in the form of The Ghost.

While Scott stole the Ant-Man suit and did good with it, she seemingly has some more nefarious plans with tech which allows her to phase through solid objects and take flight. In the comic books, The Ghost isn't one to be trifled with as her powers make her a threat to even a hero as formidable as Iron Man so Scott and Hope are going to have their work cut out for them based on this footage.

The Ghost/Heroes On The Run

Talking of The Ghost, it's hard to say whether or not she had her powers before robbing Hank Pym based on the information provided in this trailer but I'm thinking she may have actually used her abilities to break in and take something. Then again, based on the way she reacts to them, I wouldn't be all that shocked if she inadvertently gains them during the robbery and then uses them for evil.

This trailer also revisits what looks like a key moment in the movie as Hank and Hope find themselves surrounded by FBI agents. What have they done to warrant that sort of attention? Perhaps Scott Lang's actions in Captain America: Civil War put them on the radar of the government's Sokovia Accords!

Luis And The Gang Returns!

Scott's buddies stole the show in Ant-Man and they'll all be making their return in this movie with a twist. It seems the crooks have finally decided to go straight and are now charging people for their services. The fact that Hank - someone they stole off once upon a time - is among their client base is definitely ironic and it doesn't appear as he's at all happy with having to ask for their help in the sequel.

Inventive Action Scenes

While director Peyton Reed boarded the first movie at the last minute due to Edgar Wright's departure, he's clearly had some time to come up with his own inventive action sequences as is evident from The Wasp using a giant salt shaker to take down some goons in this fun new look at the movie.

There are a lot of size changing shenanigans in this trailer, though, and with what looks like the most unique car chase we've seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe highlighted at the end of this trailer, it's clear this sequel won't allow itself to be overshadowed by Marvel's other 2018 offerings.

Another Alternate Reality?

Either Scott Lang has revisited the Quantum Realm or he's inside another strange alternate reality because this shot is very intriguing. Something tells me that no matter how much Marvel tries to sell this as a relatively grounded affair, it's a story which is going to take us to some very zany places.

Yeah, That's An Ant Playing The Drums

I'm a pretty big Ant-Man fan (no pun intended) but don't ask me what the deal is with this giant ant playing the drums! It's a unique piece of imagery and one which is really goofy and fun but that's exactly what Marvel should be going for with a movie like this. The sneak peek is crammed full of unique imagery and clever uses of the powers of both characters and it's clear the ante is being upped.

Throw in the fact that this sneak peek barely scratches the surface of what's inside the Quantum Realm (not to mention The Ghost's awesome looking abilities which are definitely different to The Vision's).

Goliath

Bill Foster is clearly a former associate of Hank's and someone who, like his comic book counterpart, attempted to take on the Giant-Man persona as Goliath. Alas, it seems Scott has managed to reach whole new heights (literally) in the meantime and this character's role remains something of a mystery for now despite us getting confirmation here that he was once able to grow to an impressive 21 feet!

My bet is that he's somehow tied to The Ghost and may want revenge on Hank for something that transpired in their past but it's hard to say for sure at this stage and his intentions could be good.

What's The Deal With Janet Van Dyne?

Despite the fact that she was featured on yesterday's poster for Ant-Man and The Wasp, there's no sign of the original version of the latter hero in this trailer. We know the hero played by Michelle Pfeiffer will have some sort of key role to play in proceedings but the question is, will she be suiting up as The Wasp again and what have those years trapped inside an alternate dimension done to her mind and body?

That remains to be seen but despite Marvel's attempts to keep her under wraps, it's hard to escape the feeling that she'll definitely wind up having something important to do in the fun looking sequel.

It’s kind of weird that they released this trailer 4 days after Infinity War came out. Then I assumed that they delayed its release because it contained potential Infinity War spoilers, but nope.

Maybe they delayed its release, by a few days, to give people some time to process Infinity War.

@Dotanuki - It's kind of a stereotypical route to go, but there is a reason it has been so effective in the past. If they get it right I can't help but think it is the right way to go. Can milk a lot of emotion out of it. Their relationship without a doubt will be a big part of the movie and will likely result in one of the biggest moments in the film at some point.

With them not showing Janet again and Marvel only doing two trailers per film now, I wouldn't be surprised if they're saving her for the TV spots since her showing up so early would spoil many of the plots.

Might also be a good excuse to bring in a couple of lesser used avengers to help... Falcon, war machine, Vision and SW, Hawkeye...

Since the quantum realm has been a thing for a few movies, I feel it is the next logical threat to our reality. Wouldn't mind and ant man Dr. strange teamup actually as dimensional threats are his domain.
