Marvel Dishes Out $63K For ANT-MAN Shrubbery; New 'Pym Technologies' Set Photo

We've yet to get a new look at any Ant-Man actor in costume, but an exterior look at the building that will be Hank Pym's company in the movie has surfaced, along with an interesting news report.

Despite how discreetly Ant-Man has been filming in Atlanta, Georgia, for the past couple of months, the Marvel production caused a bit of an outrage last week due to "destructive" set preparations. According to multiple local news reports, the studio had removed eight decade-old magnolia trees to get a better shot of an abandoned State Archives Building, which a recent Ant-Man set photo (via Tumblr) reveals is doubling for Pym Technologies in the movie. Anyhow, an Atlanta arborist had argued that Marvel removing the trees without a permit is destruction, and that he believes the city's mayor is giving the studio special treatment. However, what the arborist doesn't care to realize is that  the State Archives is expected to be demolished soon along with the magolia trees.

He also doesn't acknowledge that Marvel is replanting the eight magnolia trees at a nearby location and is paying a total of $63,000 to remove, replant and design a new tree plan for the area, which includes the $8,000 being paid to plant new trees at a nearby cemetery. As pictured below, the exterior of Pym Technologies will probably be seen in Ant-Man for all of five minutes, but that's Hollywood for you. Of course, compared to the $170 million budget of the Marvel Studios' last original movie, spending a mere $63,000 on shrubbery is nothing new. What do you think?
