Last night, the first social media reactions for Aquaman hit dry land and the signs are all pointing to the DC Comics adaptation being a hit. While there were some complaints, the overall response was a good one and it's going to be very interesting reading those reviews when the embargo lifts next month.

In the meantime, we have a fresh batch of stills from the movie scanned from the latest issue of Empire Magazine. As you can see, we start with a very cool new look at Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry before going behind the scenes of the James Wan helmed release to check out never before seen shots of characters like Mera, Vulko, and Black Manta.

Aquaman will be decked out in more than just his comic accurate armour in this movie. Here, we see the hero wearing the ceremonial costume which he'll don to do battle with Ocean Master.

Willem Dafoe's Vulko was supposed to make an appearance in Justice League but ended up being cut along with a number of other scenes. Now, Warner Bros. isn't shying away from showing the hero.

A cool behind the scenes shot from the movie. It's going to be fun watching the featurettes on the eventual Blu-ray release because the work which went into creating this world is mind-blowing.

Amber Heard made a splash at the worldwide premiere for wearing a pretty bizarre outfit but there's no getting around the fact that the actress has the perfect look to play the heroic Mera.

There's an awful lot of excitement surrounding Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's Black Manta and while it's said that he'll have a much larger role in the sequel, seeing him in action promises to be quite something.

Amazing! Want really gave this movie his all, hopefully his hard work pays off. Very well-deserved.

The only thing I dislike is Mera's hair colour. It's really... distracting. And not in a good way.

That the guys directing the Flash movie are gonna stop overthinking shit and just put Barry in his classic costume.

I think they're great choices for Flash after Game Night. They [frick]ing owned that movie and got really creative behind the camera.

Hopefully, the Flash movie leans more into that and not the horrible Vacation remake.
