I hope we get an Aquaman costume like the statue. It doesn't need to be that bright but more like the comics and less Justice League is for the best. Still not sold on Momoa but I'll give it a shot. It's not that he's miscast so much as I don't think he's a good enough actor to carry a film that requires him to do more than grunt and kill people like he did in Conan.

@BullyFU - I think (or hope at least) he’ll suprise us. He’s been cast in a lot of roles where he’s just a grunting thug but I think he’s got a tonne of charisma when the role calls for it. I put him in a category with Dwayne Johnson and Schwarzenegger. I hated Justice League but I found all his scenes at least interesting, whereas every time Cavill or Afleck were on screen I felt like a nap.

@connorblaze - I think he'll be more of a Dave Batista. Perfect for certain roles but unable to really be an effective lead that requires him to do more than beat people up. We'll see. I'll give Aquaman a chance because of James Wan. I'm actually intrigued to see Amber Heard also. I know some think she's like a Megan Fox type that relies solely on her looks to get by but she has been good in a few smaller films I've seen where her looks didn't play a part in her role.

I wonder if Manta is gonna have like pressure jets I his suit so when fighting under water it makes sense how he can move, punch and evade attacks from Aquabro!!!

@RageDriver2401 - manta headpiece doesn’t look like the photo. I like the photo version better... but the statue looks like the young justice version... which is rad

@CapnMurphy2021 - I feel the other way, I didn't like the photo version much, that looks sort of like a prototype. I like the matte finish version of the statue.

Look I’m sorry... but that classic Aquaman suit is [frick]ing stupid looking. I’m typically very on the side of comic book faithfulness but that costume is just bad. In live action, in the comics, doesn’t matter it looks stupid. I liked the golden armor look of the ancient atlantean king from JL and Momoa’s battle armor look but this just looks dumb

@blitzburgh - whoa whoa, calm down there skippy. Most of Marvel's characters look ripped from the comics, but there are those that don't. Ultron, Vision, Spider-Man, Quicksilver, Scarley Witch, the Guardians of the Galaxy, to name a few. They looked either too different, or too busy.

@SmokingMan - Not to white knight for marvel but I think they’ve done a pretty good job, the characters you referenced (save for the GoTG, in my opinion) have benefitted from the departure. For example, scarlet witch’s design has largely been ridiculous practically in the comics and vision imo looks better and more like I would imagine an Android (mostly from a texture standpoint) would look than in the comics

@SmokingMan - no I understand that but he said he don't want to see them Marvel the suits which makes no sense because Aquaman didn't look straight from the comics that's for sure and Flash never had a piece together suit

Nice classic Aquaman suit! I would say it'll be darker on screen because Mera's costume shots don't look as bright as that statue.

it's nice when someone is able to adapt a design as outrageous as Black Manta's.
and that's a good looking helmet. DC's helmet game is not as strong as Marvel's, but it's a good start.
