Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom started shooting in June, but lead star Jason Momoa has only just arrived in the UK to begin work on the DC Comics sequel.

In an Instagram post announcing his arrival, the actor revealed that his hair will be dyed blonde for the movie - a sign that we could be getting a slightly more comic accurate version of Arthur Curry in the Aquaman follow-up. We're not expecting Momoa to shave his beard to play a clean-cut version of the Justice League member, but that sure would be quite something to see!

In related news, Mera actress Amber Heard is also hard at work preparing for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and she took to Twitter to show off her acrobatic training. Complicated rigs are used to create the impression these characters are underwater, so this is likely a big help.

Momoa has been heavily involved in this movie and should receive a credit for the screenplay.

It's probably going to be a long time before we receive any sort of official first look at Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but chances are we will get something at DC FanDome this October. That could be a behind-the-scenes featurette or something along those lines, though a very early teaser trailer is certainly a possibility. For now, we'll just have to wait and see.

I really liked the first movie so this is definitely one of my most anticipated DC movies. Glad they are going more comic book accurate.

@dragon316 - I'm not saying all costumes should be 100% comic accurate. Obviously that wouldn't work.
I was talking about Aquaman's blonde hair.

A lot of characters that are blonde or especially redheads in the source material seem to be either raceswapped or just have a different hair color. I know I might be nitpicking but things like hair color is the easy part in getting the actors to resemble the their characters even though the color of their hair might not be essential to the characters.

Heard practicing to fire shit in every direction I see.

Anyway, I'm still looking forward to this. And hopefully with Heard in a reduced role, because she felt like the only one who didn't enjoy being there in the first one.

We all know why you add her videos and comments, gotta make money off the trash that she is lol. Plus it helps that she gets to sit in her echo chamber with all the bots and delusional fans of hers

I guess my comment got deleted, typical. Love the blonde hair, hate that you even give her a spotlight on this site. But maybe you're into gross stuff like her lol

When your at it change Mera's hair aswell into a shade that looks more natural and not so plastic.
Most of all I hope they put some effort into making it seem like this movie actually takes place underwater. Just some particles would add a lot of weight and sense of being in water.
