A year ago, did you think a Jason Momoa-led Aquaman movie would become WB's most important superhero franchise?

Never in my life would I have thought the DCEU's trinity would be Aquaman, Harley Quinn, & Wonder Woman. SMH on how Batman & Superman have fallen so low and into so much production trouble. Hopefully "The Batman" delivers as Superman is in retirement for a while.

Not sure how Shazam will come out as the marketing for that film seems absent. It comes out soon and we haven't even got a 2nd trailer, just a bunch of TV Spots with very little new footage. Hopefully it's not dead on arrival like Fan4stic because once you see that movie you know why Fox didn't want to market that film.

@mastakilla39 - Shazam not over revealing is a positive. They do need 1 great trailer though. Keep in Ming the budget is 90 million all they need is 300 million WW to make a profit

@mastakilla39 - Wonder Woman and Aquaman obtained great results, but I think it's a bit too early to proclaim Harley Quinn as part of this hypothetical new trinity. Can we really consider Suicide Squad as a "Harley film"? I don't think so (not that SS makes much of a difference for DC's reputation, but still...)

Yeah, DC is aggressively promoting Harley - but so far she doesn't even have a solo film. Until that Birds of Prey film comes out, there's absolutely no substantial evidence beyond the ravings of her fans to consider Harley as part of some kind of "new trinity".

@HeavyMetal4Life - If that earns another billion we might then get The Superman, The Wonder Woman, The Flash, The Cyborg and then maybe The Justice League.

WB sure seems to love adding "The" in front of their recent slate of superhero movies. Maybe it's going to be their naming 'thing'?

@bcom - haha yeah, I was having a little fun with them adding The to their movies now.

@bcom - Not sure if you're joking or not but I definitely think that would be smart branding. I honestly think they should keep the trend up of naming their solo films after a "nickname" of the character, but that's just me. It could be their thing, like you said (ex: The Dark Knight, Man of Steel).

On the contrary, I could see why they'd want to move away from seeming to similar to those titles to avoid confusion with those previously-established DC films.

@L0RDbuckethead - I also like those titles. I liked that they simply went with "The Dark Knight" and "Man of Steel" rather than "Batman: The Dark Knight" or "Superman: The Man of Steel".

The trouble is that most of their other characters don't have those types of well known alternative 'nicknames'.

I was more referring to how weird it is that the upcoming movies all the "The" in front of the title. It just seems like a weird naming convention to follow... "The Batman" sounds cool, I guess "The Joker" kinda makes sense as a title but "The Suicide Squad" just sounds a little weird.

@bcom - Totally agreed. And it only makes sense for certain ones, like The Batman, because he is referred to as such in the comics (and in various other forms of media).

It reminds me of the episodes of Friends from the 90s, where every episode was titled, "The one with...". Same with Seinfield. Almost every episode is titled with "The".

I agree, it's a strange suit for WB to follow. But IMO, it would be good branding on their part.

@Aquamayne - you think Shazam will be the punching bag? I'm assuming you're not moronic enough to not realize that the 'punching bag' comment pertains to DC. So you bringing Brie Larson's Captain Marvel in would just make you look like a massive fool trying to say something trollish. Don't act mentally incapacitated, bud.
