A new description for Avengers 4 merchandise may have shed some light on where things are going in the Infinity War sequel and it sounds like a bigger threat than Thanos could be on the way to the MCU.

Yesterday, Avengers 4 merchandise leaked online featuring a look at Thor and Rocket decked out in brand new costumes. However, one fan has now taken a closer look at the description on the back and speculation is running rampant that the Infinity War sequel will feature an even bigger threat than we possibly imagined. In fact, it could very well explain that rumoured Avengers: Annihilation title.

"The Asgardian Thor wields the mighty Stormbreaker in his battle against new foes," it reads. "Rocket teams up with a new crew to guard the galaxy from an even greater threat." That new crew is more than likely a reference to Valkyrie and Korg or possibly even just The Avengers but what could that "even greater threat" be? Well, there's a very good chance it could be the villainous Annihilus!

After all, the villain attacking a vulnerable galaxy would certainly be fun to see but would that not be a bit much when Earth's Mightiest Heroes have to undo the damage done by Thanos in the last movie? Honestly, it's hard to say but there's clearly going to be more to Avengers 4 than meets the eye and more details will hopefully be revealed in the coming months as a trailer has to be imminent now.

@CapLithuania - Because Annihilus is simply not interesting. He's just a bad guy that wants to invade the universe. We've waited fro Thanos for many many years. I don't care about Annihilus.

This is just part of this new culture around CBM's in which now everyone takes advantage of entertainment news to make rumours and 10 minute videos about those rumours, and then Movie Fights about that and blah blah blah

Skurlls in Captain Marvel - Avegers 4 is Secret Invasion!!!! No. It's not. That would make absolutely 0 sense. We need closure to these characters and an ending for Thanos.

"Silk" in Infinity War - OMG they're setting up a Silk movie. Maybe Spider-verse????

so lame

@BaronZemo - I hate this new internet buzz with either theories that make 0 sense form a narrative standpoint or things that are waaaay too risky or complicated for a cmb movie (it's like, except a few exceptions, these movie are pretty predictible). But of course, these people need clicks and stuff

@BaronZemo - Woah woah woah. I like annilhus. If they go with the ultimate version where he wants to evacuate his own universe, maybe because the positive universe is destroying his he could be great. He is also one of the mostt feared and most interestingly desgined villians in marvel.

Still...save for gotg3 and fantastic four. I want to see nova take him on, starlord getting involved in a galatic war.

@BaronZemo - Why in the actual ass would they not make the one of the best villains in CBM history the main villain of the sequel to his break out appearance ... where everything is riding on him ... they may have shown his angle decently convincingly from a hypothetical standpoint but he is still one hundred percent f***ed up in the head and definitely THE BAD GUY of Avengers 3 and 4 and the MCU as a whole

@BaronZemo - What will be impressive is if they can keep us wondering until the movie comes, out only movie I can think of that did that was Chris Nolan's Interstellar, before that came out all we knew it was about was space travel
