We've been hearing rumours for a while now that Avengers 4 will take place quite a while after the events of Infinity War and a new report sheds some light on just how much time will have passed...

When an older actress was cast as Cassie Lang in Avengers 4, speculation started mounting about both a time jump and time travel in the highly anticipated Marvel Studios sequel. While the latter could ultimately play a role in proceedings, it definitely appears as if the movie will take place some time after the events of Infinity War if the following Tweets - from a previously reliable source - are accurate.

Five years is a number which has been thrown around quite a lot in regards to Avengers 4 and it would certainly explain a lot, including Tony Stark's new hairstyle and the fact that Hawkeye has moved to Japan and adopted his Ronin persona. By having this movie take place slightly further in the future, we'll get to see what's happened to Earth in the years which have followed Thanos' devastating attack.

We'll also get to see how The Avengers accepted their defeat and the means they'll go to in order to set things right. However, with travelling back in time to undo the damage caused by Thanos ultimately get rid of a world which has actually thrived with a significantly smaller population? That's going to be quite a dilemma for the team and we'll just have to wait and see how it all pans out. Thoughts?

I don't doubt this, but is this guy reliable enough to keep making articles based on his tweets?

@Pantherpool - He's fairly reliable. This rumour was also said back in April by the dude who broke the Eternals rumour, and he also specifically said 5 years, so I would personally believe it.

If that's the case, then how is Peter still in high school? Unless they do some confusing time travel.

@mcu93 - Time jump after Infinity War, but time travel splits into two universes. The MCU will proceed after they travel back and beat Thanos during Infinity War so everyone never dusts or some bull like that

@mcu93 - You don't get credits for traveling to titan.
