@Pitydafool - to do Annihilation well they should do these things:

Introduce Annihilus and the Negative Zone as a villain in someone's film. (F4?).

Then wait until Galactus and Silver Surfer have been introduced, also probably in an F4 film.

Then start a totally separate series apart from Avengers with it's own phase of films.

Annihilation 1: Shows the intro of the Annihilation Wave, and tells the story of Nova and Quasar trying to stop it and evacuating planets.

Annihilation: Nova: A prequel introducing Richard Ryder. He was a Nova Corps member but after Thanos destroyed Xandar he absorbed all of the combined power of the Corps into himself.

Annihilation: Heralds: Story of Silver Surfer and past Heralds of Galactus trying to stop Annihilus' scouts from gathering Cosmic Energy from previous Heralds, and ultimately them capturing Galactus.

Annihilation: Guardians: Story about the remaining Guardians of the Galaxy going planet to planet to help defend them from the Annihilation Wave, ultimately losing every battle and being constantly pushed back and forced to evacuate. Thisnwould be something of Anwar film as each planet we see getting attacked would be bringing their planet's military out in full force. This would also be the prelude to the conclusion and end with the Guardians meeting up with Nova, and Silver Surfer. (Quasar dies in the first film as a way to show how powerful Annihilue really is.)

Annihilation 2: This is the final battle between our combined heroes and Annihilus. Thanos is seen to be working with Annihilus to meet his own goals. Galactus is freed. The heroes finally destroy the Annihilation Wave and Annihilus. After credits scene shows a new Annihilus being born.

@Pitydafool - If we are getting cosmic mcu that would should be the powerful climax. Possibly a guardians of the galaxy 4 film to start.
