Avengers: Endgame has returned to theaters this weekend as Marvel Studios makes one last attempt to finally break the record set by
Avatar at the worldwide box office.
To celebrate the re-release, Joe and Anthony Russo have shared a handful of new behind the scenes images from the epic superhero ensemble, and as cool as they all are (especially as they take us to 2013 era Asgard), there's one very surprising reveal here relating to Captain Marvel.
During the final battle, the hero was decked out in a costume with a red and blue colour scheme that was clearly inspired by Mar-Vell's appearance in the comic books.
Well, that must have been altered during post-production because these photos reveal that Brie Larson was wearing a completely different suit on set. You can check that out by hitting the "View List" button below to have a look at these newly released images from
Avengers: Endgame.
Marvel's "Trinity" of superheroes assemble here as they take a break from shooting that epic final battle to watch some of the action unfold. Sadly, this is the final time they'll be together on screen.
Avengers: Endgame takes us back to Asgard in 2013 when Thor is reunited with his mother just hours before she's killed by Malekith. On the left is Sean Gunn, the actor who plays Rocket on set.
As you can see, Brie Larson had that shorter haircut on set but she was wearing the costume from
Captain Marvel! Clearly the Russo Brothers decided to later change its appearance with visual effects.

Josh Brolin was lucky enough to celebrate his birthday on the set of
Avengers: Endgame and the actor shared this video of the movie's cast wishing (well, singing) him many happy returns. As you can see, it was a rather star-studded celebrations as it was shot during the massive final battle.
