"Marvel really does seem to be head and shoulders above other studios when it comes to these aging/de-aging effects"

It's not Marvel, they work with many effects houses on different effects.

This is so cool.

I re-watched the movie over the weekend. Third viewing since release, I still bawled like a baby.

Interesting that they did a similar thing here with a double that they did in The First Avenger with skinny Steve having a double as reference. Interesting behind the scenes bookend of the character and actor coming full circle

Wait? He didn't actually time travel? Mind blown.

I've already headcanon'd the fan theory that Old Man Steve was going to be the movie's Stan Lee cameo.

The effects were extremely well done, looked practical in the film. Could have been a cool opportunity for a Clint Eastwood cameo, looks pretty close to his likeness. Also, I watched this on digital the other night, after seeing it 3 times in the theatre. It was like a weirdly different viewing experience, still super positive, but the runtime FLEW by, I was more emotional than I was the first few times and I felt the gravity of the loss by the end more than I think I did in the theatre. Left me feeling very positive and that I really enjoyed the film, but also so sad we'll never see the original six on screen together again.

Idk why, I always felt I needed to sit by myself and watch this movie alone to really soak everything in, and I'm glad I did. I couldn't get enough. Also, by the time I saw it for a fourth time, any flaws (of course there are some) that I'd already analyzed for months, dissolved as I watched again, it was a perfect viewing experience, despite its flaws, they just really didn't matter to me this time and I enjoyed this movie in bizarre perfect way even though I'd already seen it. Infinity War is I believe a perfect movie and this one was ranked a little lower for me because of its faults but my God, the feeling I had watching this the other night, it may be tied, now. Idk, I just wanted to see it again, I didn't expect it to grip me so much on a 4th viewing, but it did and I had to tell yall.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - the first few seconds in the theatre I thought it was Clint Eastwood playing Steve Rogers.

Man... when I first saw Endgame, I thought they just hired some old dude with edited ADR for this scene. Had no idea it was actually Evans. Nice job Marvel.

It's not just this scene, but I think the whole movie is packed with stellar cgi. In my opinion definitely one of the best Marvel movies in terms of cgi really

Yeah, I think that they went a little too far, myself... I had to struggle to see Evans under the effect the first time. The old age make-up work that they did by itself is extraordinary... could have finished it out around his mouth and called it a day.

@TyrantBossMedia - So basically..... He's really really old lol. I'd really love to have old Steve in Falcon and Winter Soldier.

When I first saw that thumbnail out of the corner of my eye I thought it was Daniel Craig.

The makeup work was great, but I love what they were able to achieve with the help of the VFX. It has the familiarity of it still being Evans while making him feel transformed enough to really communicate that he's lived a whole lifetime since we saw him leave.
