ok, so basically she came back to Earth once she started to notice the cosmos human creatures/beings are starting to reappearing.

or maybe somebody told her about that fact.

at least that it how i see it. otherwise it does not make sense.
dracula
dracula - 5/11/2019, 2:25 AM
@jerryblake - Odd that she only showed up and the begining and end, but it was for the best, the OG avengers deserved to finish their story on their own, Black Panther, Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel will have their own story to tell in phase 4-6

@jerryblake - Maybe when the base got destroyed she noticed the line was cut and it set off an alarm
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 5/11/2019, 2:31 AM
@jerryblake - I believe it happened this way:

1. Nick Fury activated his beeper. (The Avengers find it off-screen and bring it to their compound.)

2. Carol comes to Earth to answer the beeper in the post-credit scene in her movie. (Off-screen, the Avengers tell her what happened and that they've got people lost in space. Carol goes out to look for them.)

3. Carol finds Stark after a few weeks of looking.

All the pieces are there, but it's definitely not laid out in a clear way.

@Spock0Clock -

that's exactly what happened.
i won't even argue with you.

the mid-credits scene from Captain Marvel is a prologue to EndGame.
jerryblake
jerryblake - 5/11/2019, 3:51 AM
@Kevwebsz - impossible because if there was a line to connect with Marvel, Black Widow would at least ask her to be part of a mission.
In movie they did not show this scene so i think she was too far away to even catch a signal.

MexCowboyNation - 5/11/2019, 6:05 AM
@dracula - yeah I expected more from her in the movie since Fury called her 8n and her movie.

@jerryblake - Black Widow says "this channel is always active, so if anything goes sideways, anyone making trouble where they shouldn't, comes through me"

guess what happened when their comms channel went silent without notice?

@jerryblake - it wouldn’t just be lifeforms re-appearing. Every time you snap your fingers with the gauntlet the energy that is released is so massive that it is unparalleled to anything that’s ever happens before. Easy for people (Carol herself including) through out the universe/galaxy to detect something like that. They’re infinity Stones. Which lends me to believe that this is gonna set more extraterrestrial eyes into earth in the future out of interest (whether it’s the Kree, skrulls or both

@TanukiTrooper - god I love absolutely everything about her Endgame look over her solo movie look. From the designs and colors, to her short hair, to the sash... that look is a bajillion times better. She needs to keep that general look. Of course it can be tweaked a bit each movie, but mostly keep that!
TanukiTrooper
TanukiTrooper - 5/14/2019, 5:04 AM
@PTM - I totally agree with all you said. When I first saw her in that hologram scene I let out a little "Oh fudge yeah!", except I didn't say fudge. I definitely got the impression that those scenes were filmed after her solo movie during reshoots. She just excudes so much more confidence in the character than she did in the earlier scenes of Endgame. Even when she was just standing on the steps of the porch at the end, she just had such a powerful presence. Brie's definitely growing into the character much like Chris Evans did with Cap. I'm very keen to see where she goes.

I have to say they really nailed the costume designs for the final battle, captain America, captain Marvel and Iron Man especially looked so good and accurate to the comics.

@MalseMarcel - yeah to be fair I’m looking forward to seeing the back of the iron spider suit, served its purpose but let’s get back to basics. Thor has looked better but I think they made the right decision not magically buffing back up from a story perspective

I hate the character and I am disappointed by Larson's performance. I would have at least wished for her to constantly wear her helmet/headgear, especially when in outer space.
I also hate the new hairstyle. Looks like the hair of a 60 year old... They could've done better here.
dracula
dracula - 5/11/2019, 2:21 AM
@Kur5e - Hopefully they get a better director for the sequel and spend more time on the script and focus less on being as feminist as possible and more on telling a good story, its fine if you want to make a female empowering movie, but it should come naturally, thats why wonder Woman and Buffy The Vampire Slayer worked so well, yes they are feminist, but they focused on story and character development. Like seriously the choice not to have her smile, her smiling wouldnt change the quality of the film, but it just seems like a pointless choice. They made that choice cause its feminist somehow...I dont get it
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 5/11/2019, 2:25 AM
Like seriously the choice not to have her smile...

Did I get caught in a time warp or is it just really stupid in here?
DetBullock
DetBullock - 5/11/2019, 2:33 AM
@dracula - Buffy The Vampire Slayer was much more on the nose than Captain Marvel regarding feminism, heck even Wonder Woman is in many regards.
Captain Marvel to me looks more like some sort of light objectivist narrative when someone that is competent/special is constantly put down by the mediocre but then decides not to give a [frick] anymore and just keeps on being special (like The Incredibles). Which also has feminist applicability because IRL in many professional careers women tend to get more shit thrown at them compared to a man of equal or even inferior competence, but it's still something that is relatable on more levels than one.
dracula
dracula - 5/11/2019, 2:49 AM
@DetBullock - I guess there are aspects of Buffy The Vampire Slayer are kind of in your face, like the Watchers Council and their treatment of Slayers, like the test they are put through when they turn 18 or the way they talked down to Buffy when she needed information in season 5, but I don't know, in that it didn't really bother me, you see that kind of stuff in lots of media, and it had the benefit of likeable and interesting characters and still had a sense of humor.

On Wonder Woman I really don't see it, yes they repeatedly refer to the man, how man is evil, how man doesnt deserve their help. The thing is, I don't think they are referring to man as a sex, they are reffering to mankind, there were women before the amazons and its established that everyone is effected by the war, and they say the world of man does not deserve their help, a world that includes women and children, and they even say that everyone is to blame for the war. There is one scene of Diana being talked down to by generals, but it's because of the time period, they acknowledge it and move on.

Im not saying Captain Marvel shouldn't be feminist, just saying some of the choices they made to "be more feminist" seemed kind of pointless, and in some cases created unnessesary drama, like the smile thing, not saying she should have smiled, but I just dont get it, male heroes smile, other female heroes smile, it doesnt make them anyless heroes

@dracula - some fine trolling at display here. Almost got me
dracula
dracula - 5/11/2019, 2:56 AM
@VigorAhai - Not trolling, not trying to get a reaction out of anyone, just sharing an opinion, feel free to share yours, I have no problem with a nice debate, as long as it doesnt turn into a stupid flame war. If someone liked the movie, I have no problem with that, no film can please everyone and there is no reason people cant discuss it in a civilized manner
dracula
dracula - 5/11/2019, 2:58 AM
@VigorAhai - I don't think Captain Marvel is terrible, its not even Marvel's worst, its for sure better than Thor The Dark World and Iron Man 2
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 5/11/2019, 3:02 AM
@VigorAhai - ...shit... was it just a troll all along? Or even a hyperbolic joke? I... I can't keep track of it anymore. There's no way to out-stupid the "real" complaints about Captain Marvel, and half of those people are being disingenuous trolls anyway.

Poe's law is in full effect in Captain Marvel threads.
