AVENGERS: ENDGAME Statue Sees Thanos Attempting To Unleash The Power Of The Stark Gauntlet

Another Avengers: Endgame statue has been revealed in the wake of the movie's release and this one puts the spotlight on Josh Brolin's Thanos after he finally got his evil hands of the Stark Gauntlet...

Avengers: Endgame may have killed Thanos off in the first act, but time-travel shenanigans ensured that an earlier version of the Mad Titan was able to face Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the present day. This "warrior" version of the villain was even more bloodthirsty than his present day counterpart, and determined to get his hands on the Infinity Stones.

Now, Iron Studios has unveiled its amazing 1/4 scale Thanos statue featuring the character striking a number of poses. Most notable, however, is him wielding the Stark Gauntlet.

Also known as the Nano Gauntlet, it's obviously charred from The Hulk using it and is missing the Stones after Iron Man managed to retrieve them seconds before making the ultimate sacrifice. The statue also provides a detailed look at the armour and sword we saw the villain use in the movie.

At the end of Endgame, Thanos finally managed to get his hands on the Infinity Gauntlet but was shocked to find that it had none of the Stones on it...instead, they were in Iron Man's possession!

The Mad Titan snapping his fingers was one of those moments which left moviegoers holding their breath but no one was more shocked than him to realise that it would do absolutely nothing.

Thanos wielding his massive sword and the original Infinity Gauntlet was, of course, something that we saw across all merchandise but it simply never happens in the movie despite how cool it looks.

This is better! The reason he had the Gauntlet in promo art and merchandise is more than likely because companies like this one were only given so much information and not told any spoilers.

This a fantastic shot of Thanos and that sword of his was definitely pretty formidable. After all, regardless of what it's made of, he managed to destroy Captain America's Vibranium shield with it.

Thanos didn't use his sword in Avengers: Infinity War but he didn't need to because he had the Infinity Stones at that point. This "warrior" version of the villain, however, is quite a bit different.

At this point, he hasn't fully embarked on his mission to gain the Infinity Stones and still has the mindset of a warlord. That makes him even more formidable...and somehow even more evil too!

Thanos' armour is covered in battle scars and, more worryingly, what appears to be blood. There is one scene in Endgame where we actually see the Mad Titan cleaning blood from his sword too.

An Unexpected Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Cameo

Clark Gregg returned to the big screen to play a younger Agent Coulson in Captain Marvel, and Alonso responded to one fan curious about how that came to pass by saying, "Scheduling our incredible successful actors is always a challenge but Clark and his people made it possible for us to have him and we were better for it."

However, when that same person asked if the bartender (played by Patrick Brennan) was also from the series - the actor played Marcus Daniels, a.k.a. Blackout - she seemingly confirmed that they were one and the same by responding: "You noticed?"

Sif Could Still Return

An awful lot of fans were disappointed by the lack of Sif in both Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame, so it that really it for the Asgardian? Well, this might mean a lot of nothing at all, but Alonso assured one fan that the door is still open for her to return somewhere down the line. "Never say never," she teases. "We love Sif the character as we do our actress, Jaimie Alexander."

Her Thoughts On The Negativity Surrounding Captain Marvel

Before Captain Marvel was released, there was a lot of negativity aimed at the movie, seemingly because it featured a female lead and a star who simply wants more opportunities for people who aren't male and white (which is honestly long overdue). How did Alonso react to that online backlash?

"First of all I share with you the pride you feel for the film. I love this film with all my heart. We were aware that there were people that were not ready or perhaps not welcoming of the film but it never interfered with the story line or our vision of the film. When you make stories that could potentially touch an international audience, there will always be a portion of the audience that does not 100% love it. But we hope they give us a chance and see the film before they finalize their opinions. There is something for everyone in our films, even if you're a little reluctant to watch."

What Marvel Studios Does With The Ideas They Have To Scrap

Throughout the course of this Q&A, Alonso talked a lot about what it's like to work at Marvel Studios, but perhaps most interesting is what she had to say about what the studio does when there's an idea they're keen on but can't include for whatever reason. "That's a tough question because there's a lot of ideas that are left on the cutting room floor for every film we have done," she explains.

"But I can tell you with certainty the ones that fit the storyline in the strongest of ways, are the ones that remain. If we believe the scenes had something to show audiences,a different side of what it could have been but didn't fit the film, then those are included as extra scenes in the Digital/Blu-ray."

More Special Features On Future Blu-rays?

Talking of Blu-rays, something that's become apparent in recent years is that Marvel Studios doesn't really include a lot of meaningful extra content on the home release of their films.

There's a lot of good stuff on them but nothing that gets really in-depth and when one fan pointed that out, Alonso replied: "We will work harder on bringing you more behind-the-scenes content but we are limited by the amount of time on the disc." Here's hoping that starts with Avengers: Endgame!

More Representation In Future Movies

Marvel Studios has talked a lot of about increasing representation in future movies and that's another topic Alonso talks about in her Q&A. Interestingly, it sounds like that could include a larger focus on South America as she talked about her desire to shoot a movie there and said this when one fan asked about superheroes from that part of the world being introduced down the line.

"We would love to represent and include people like you in our films," she responded. "As I said many times before, we hope to have all people represented, you included in that."

What She's Proud Of Achieving At Marvel Studios

"Although I don't know what others might feel," Alonso responded when asked about her experience being part of Marvel Studios, "I can tell you what I consistently remind myself to not take for granted: the incredible teams that have consistently created and worked incredibly hard to bring the most visually stunning and best stories we can to the screen." And for that, we thank them!

The Possibility Of Exporing Thanos' Childhood

We know that earlier cuts of Avengers: Infinity War were going to visit Thanos' youth and concept recently emerged showing him as a youngster. There's been a lot of speculation that we'll get to see that in The Eternals and it sounds like delving into the villain's past is something Marvel Studios is still discussing.

"To be honest with you I've always been interested in Thanos' childhood and although I don't know if we will see it in one of our movies, I think it's important to know how he became who he was," she teased, once again leaving fans hopeful that we could see a young Mad Titan on the big screen one day.

The X-Men Name Is "Outdated"

This isn't from Alonso's Reddit AMA, but is still very interesting. During a recent chat with Nuke the Fridge, she was asked about the future of the X-Men franchise and pointed to a possible rebranding.

"I don’t know where the future is going," she said, adding: "It’s funny that people call it the X-Men. There’s a lot of female superheroes in that X-Men group, so I think it’s outdated." Does that mean the team will get a new name? That would certainly help differentiate the Marvel Studios version from what's come before, something they'll need to do after Dark Phoenix.
