I will agree with this. At this point in the mcu, it would be underwhelming to end this chapter of the mcu with a character that was just introduced. And when you're already removing a key player from the story, you might as well change the overall story to suit the universe its in.

This is what I’ve said all along; anyone who wanted Adam Warlock to swoop in at the 11th hour to save the day is a damn fool.

People got uptight over Captain Marvel coming in for no reason, and were whinging with this exact excuse ("iNtRODucInG hEr OuT oF NoWHeRe iN a MoVIe aBOut cHARacTeRs WE AlrEaDy kNoW AnD lOve").

Her introduction was no different than the Phase 1 characters getting their solo leading into the team up movie. Or sorry a better example would be Doctor Strange getting his own movie before Infinity War. The Guardians getting their own solo(s) before Infinity War

If people were so damn stuck to that logic, they should have been complaining about all those characters I mentioned above rolling into Infinity War/Endgame. Or better yet, Black Panther and Spider-Man being "iNtRODucED OuT oF NoWHeRe iN a MoVIe aBOut cHARacTeRs WE AlrEaDy kNoW AnD lOve" in Civil War. "Cuz the story is about the characters we know and love in the midst of conflict so it doesn't make sense!"... Right.

@Kurne - Ant-Man came into Civil War fresh off a solo movie, with a brand new power that overwhelmed all of the established characters... and nobody complained.

(Except maybe some mod who deleted the first comment I made.)

Peter and T'Challa both are introduced via the person first. Peter is a tech interested kid who needs guidance and desires to be an Avenger. T'Challa is thrusted into a status of leadership and political power.

Captain Marvel just shows up - her entire 'arc' of having the pager and wanting revenge for Nick Fury getting snapped is tossed away because the writers did not find it important and instead decided to have her simply appear as a deus ex machina.

@Spock0Clock -
"Ant-Man came into Civil War fresh off a solo movie, with a brand new power that overwhelmed all of the established characters"

LMAO. No.

Ant-Man had interesting visuals but other than that he barely had any effect on the heroes. Vision & Wanda did the most damage to the battlefield and the individuals fighting. Ant-Man was entirely a distraction method, both in the sense of trying to disable Tony's suit and growing massive.

@Scarilian - Now you're just making things up. There's no arc or thing about Carol wanting revenge for Nick Fury. All it is is Carol modifying it for 90s Fury in case of severe emergencies to extract her to Earth from her universal mission. Obviously if she receives the signal, sees half of all life disappearing before her very eyes and then goes back to Earth seeing no Fury, she'll be pissed about it.

This is no different from T'Challa in Civil War (who by the way, was just there to support T'Chaka and protect him since he was BP but not king of Wakanda), and even a better reason than Peter and Scott had. Those two were just contacted to be an extra soldier. Carol, like T'Challa had a personal stake in the matter. Scott was in fact only there to be a distraction.

Just say you don't like the character and go. Making up stuff to justify it is unnecessary. Not like anyone is forcing you to like Carol anyway.

Probably 2 of the most conflicting statements ever...lol

"We did not want to give too much story space to introducing a whole new person.“

“ "Her movie had not really even been conceived yet, so to bring her in as an even more cosmic character made sense."

Captain Marvel was def a Wonder Woman reaction.
Gotg2 introduced the enclave, and showed Adam’s cocoon.
Some might think that it was planted for new gods/ect ect
There’s no was a post credit stinger is for a film 4+ years away.
