AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Actress Elizabeth Olsen Reveals How The Film's Cast Found Out About The Ending

The lengths Marvel Studios goes to to prevent plot leaks is well documented, but while appearing at ACE Comic-Con, Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) reveals that The Russos took things to a whole new level.

We already knew that Joe and Anthony Russo went to great lengths to ensure that the major Avengers: Infinity War plot points remained hidden from audiences before the Marvel epic's release, but while appearing at ACE Comic-Con in Seattle, Elizabeth Olsen recalled the extreme measures the directors took to preserve the specifics of the film's rather shocking denouement.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR SPOILERS - A Rundown Of All Of The Biggest Reveals And Most Shocking Moments

According to the Scarlet Witch actress, The Russos didn't map out the entire ending until they were just about to shoot it, gathering the cast together... in a van.

“I found out from the Russos exactly what was going to happen and it wasn’t until we shot it on that day we learned what the ending was. They took us into a van – all of us – we were in a van with air conditioning because it was very hot and they told us how the movie was going to end and no one knew. And they were like ‘Now we’re shooting it, Go!’ and we were like ‘How are we supposed to interpret that?”

Despite their  best efforts, some plot details did wind up leaking online before the movie hit theaters, so we can probably expect an even bigger veil of secrecy to surround the still-untitled Avengers 4 as we head towards its release in May of next year.

But that's a long way off yet, and for now Olsen is just happy to finally be able to discuss the finer points of Infinity War. "Can I say it’s such a relief that we get to talk about it?," she told the crowd. "Oh boy, we usually don’t get to say any of this stuff, but you guys have seen it and it’s out in the world – woof!"
