Superhero fatigue? F*** that! Disney chairman Bob Iger has revealed that as well as having huge plans for Star Wars, they have no intention of bringing the Marvel Cinematic Universe to an end. EVER.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is about to become only the third movie in history to pass the $2 billion mark at the worldwide box office. Meanwhile, the Marvel Studios movies are showing no signs of slowing down in terms of their popularity, and taking all of that into account, it probably won't surprise you to learn that Disney has massive plans for both franchises over the next few years.

"There are five Star Wars films – four more with Episode VII: The Force Awakens – that are in varying stages of development and production," Disney chairman Bob Iger revealed in a recent interview with BBC Newsbeat. "There will be more after that, I don’t know how many, I don’t know how often." Another trilogy and more spinoffs are an inevitability, and it honestly wouldn't be surprising if we reach a point where we're getting TWO Star Wars movies a year instead of just the one.

As for Marvel, Iger went on to make it clear that it's a Cinematic Universe which is just going to keep growing and growing. "Marvel, you’re dealing with thousands and thousands of characters – that will go on forever." That Howard the Duck movie is really happening, eh? Well, eventually.
