I don't want to see even one tiny spoiler for this movie. This is my favorite site on the interwebs but maybe I have to give it up for a year...

"PETER! PROTECT THEM. THEY'RE NOT DEAD."

Well done Marvel, you completely messed up one of the biggest twists of Infinity War as this is clearly in refrence to the Avengers seemingly being killed by Thanos.

How do you mess up so badly on one of the biggest movies you have planned. You avoid releasing the teaser publically in order to build hype and then you do something as stupid as this.

@Scarilian - If you actually think that Marvel officially released this image, then youre by far, one of the most dumbest people I've come across on this site.

Also, you seem to have some sort of telepathic power to know exactly what this single line of a sequence we don't even know is going to be in the final film is about. You a mutant?

@Scarilian - This is clearly assumption. You have no idea who Strange is referring to and how it affects the plot.

@Scarilian - Actually, he could refer to ANYBODY. Like, i don't know, even just Rhodey and Scarlet Witch, just to name 2 random people. Out of context, this could be anything. Strange could be referring even some random injured bystanders We saw set pics from a city battle with Strange in it not too long ago. This could be the CGI making for it, so it could literally be anybody.

@Scarilian - Also, the fact that Strange is telling to Spider-Man to protect the seemingly dead Avengers is weird huh? Why should he protect them? From Thanos? Spider-Man alone?

Actually, this could mean just the opposite: that the Avengers are NOT in danger here.

@MonsieurCringe -

I never said Marvel released it. I said they messed up badly doing 'something as stupid as this'. Which is in refrence to how they managed to allow this image to leak on a set that should be as tight as possible.

It is not the first time they have done something idiotic relating to Infinity War, a guy was given several of the props from the Asgard set at Durham Cathedral because one of the drivers thought 'nobody would miss this prop as we have over 200'

"some sort of telepathic power"

Nope, just a clear understanding of established facts and the set-up that has been presented.

The image tells us a lot about the scene. Doctor Strange is half emerged from a portal. We've seen how the sling-ring portals look in Doctor Strange and that is clearly not the same effect - however it matches exactly with him astral projecting himself to be visible by humans as demonstrated during the scene where he reveals himself to Christine Palmer.

Next is the context of the scene, if you have actually read the comics this story is based on then you know exactly what this scene is replicating and referring to. Thanos wipes out the heroes and then in the comics brings them back to life.

Overall the scene flat-out tells us that Doctor Strange saves the Avengers letting them escape death by taking the astral forms of the Avengers out of their bodies. He is encouraging Peter to protect them because the bodies are needed for them to return to, as shown if the body dies the astral form dies (As clearly demonstrated and established in Doctor Strange)

@Scarilian - On top of what everyone else said, you don't even know if it's real. There's no confirmation that this is real and we have been burned by fake fan "leaks" before.
