Avengers: Infinity War is going to be crammed full of heroes and villains but should we now add another to the list? Various outlets are reporting that a Metacritic cast listing has seemingly confirmed that the Silver Surfer will be making an appearance in the highly anticipated Marvel Studios movie. Seems hard to believe, right? Well, it is but this listing also claims that Curt Clendenin is playing him!
The actor isn't a particularly big name but counts the likes of The Interview, Gilmore Girls, and Weeds among his many uncredited performances. He's written and directed a lot of shorts too but is essentially an unknown and seems like an odd choice for a role like this (there's nothing to say he's voicing him, though). However, is it actually feasible that he's going to show up in Infinity War?
When the rights to Daredevil were set to expire a few years ago, Kevin Feige offered Fox the chance to keep the Man Without Fear in exchange for Galactus and the Silver Surfer. That deal didn't pan out but it shows that he has an interest in those characters and Marvel Studios has since struck many a deal with the studio, hence why Ego the Living Planet showed up in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 last year.
The Fox/Disney deal has nothing to do with this and chances are it's not going to happen regardless (can Metacritic's listings be changed the same way as IMDb?) but it definitely gives us something to think about! After all, just imagine if Silver Surfer and Galactus were to show up on Earth after Thanos is defeated because the planet is vulnerable? That would make Avengers 4 pretty damn exciting...
